The Studio Scraplift Challenge

Sunday, September 27, 2015

Just popping in to share my take on The Studio's latest Scraplift Challenge.  We've scraplifted other members of the Design Team and encourage you to use the post linked above to pick one of our scraplifts to scraplift.  I was inspired by our leader Anna's take (See below.) on our past Food Challenge to create this.
I started this page by smudging Pink Bubblegum Glimmer Mist and Sunshine Mister Huey's onto the Whisper White, cardstock, base page.  I then topped that with smeared, through a couple of stencils, Spun Sugar & Faded Jeans Distress Inks, before anchoring a couple of patterned papers, near the left edge of the design, with black and gold-threaded, straight, machine stitches and layering a bit of vellum, as well as my photos, which were matted with more Whisper White cardstock, over them.  A few rubons prep the page for my "I love TO WATCH you WORK" title, which was created from gold, foil words; a wood veneer "love"; and Deep Sea Flash and Mini Alphas.  A "Big" puffy sticker and pear die cut round out the top right corner...
and another sticker and few more die cuts, in addition to a length of white string, wrapped around the bottom photo and tied in a bow, complete the bottom left.
A "TODAY" journaling card was then tucked under the bottom right edge of my photo stack; grounded with another puffy sticker and "GOOD FOR YOU" die cut; and used to journal, I loved watching you work on your studies together & listening to you talk to & encourage one another.
The stamped, in Jet Black ink, "REMEMBER THIS APR 06 2015" date grounds the entire design...
and a sprinkling of gold, star sequins, as well as arrow and gold, star die cuts, complete the look.
I am naturally drawn to layouts with multiple photos and liked that aspect of Anna's playful page.  However, I don't normally use plain white cardstock as a base for my pages and was inspired by her use of such here, as well as the amount of white space she utilized.
Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see who inspired the rest of the members of the team, as well as to pick a page to inspire your own creative time this month.  You have until October 11, 2015, to link up your takes in the right-hand column of The Studio Blog.  I'm looking forward to seeing where this one takes you!  Have fun, as well as terrific week!
