You Are My Sunshine

Thursday, September 24, 2015

Morning!  I've got a page to share today that I actually made over two years ago now.  It was done for a guest designer opportunity that didn't end up working out, but it occurred to me recently that I had never shared it here.  So, yesterday, I was celebrating fall; and today, I'm back to summer.  That's the Kansas girl in me for you ;).
I started this page by smudging the textured, white, cardstock, base page with Patina Glimmer Mist and stamping it, in Jet Black ink, with both the grid background and bubbles.  I then anchored a trio of color-coordinating, patterned papers, hand-cut in the shape of banners, down the vertical center of the page, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches and topped them with a couple of polka dot, patterned papers, before adhering my matted, with Whisper White cardstock, photos down the center of the design and grounding them with my Cameo-cut, from Whisper White cardstock, and glittered "you are my sunshine" title.
I then embellished the right side of my photos with a paper doily; red tag, leftover from an old, shirt purchase and dressed up with a length of Baker's Twine, tied in a bow; "SUN" Bingo card; "sunshine & smiles" stickers, cut in the shape of banners; chipboard cloud...
and a stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock, "imagine" image.
The image was colored in with pencils, dressed up with a little Crystal Effects and Dazzling Details, and adhered with foam tape.  I'm thinking I need to add a little watercolor to that gorgeous image next time.  Anybody want Market Street Stamps to come back on the scene as much as I do?  Sigh.
A kraft, polka dot envelope; yellow, floral frame; stamped, in Jet Black ink, with "BEAUTIFUL", "{hello}", journaling card; and red, journaling frame, filled in with a bit of info, Oregon Trail Pool, June 26, 2012, were tucked under the left side of my photos.  A "JUN" flair button anchors a stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a die-cut, vellum banner, "KEEP SMILING" phrase.
A couple of banners, one of which was popped up with foam tape and embellished with a length of white string, tied in a bow, as well as a cardstock, sticker arrow and lots of clear sequins, scattered about, complete the look.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a truly remarkable day!
