Morning, friends! As promised, I've got my take on a playful, new palette from Colour Me...!, for you all, today. This week we're calling for creations using Stampin' Up's Real Red, Tangelo Twist, Cucumber Crush, and So Saffron. Here's how I was inspired.
I started this card by piecing a couple of patterned papers onto the White, cardstock, card face; topping them with a dry embossed, with stars, sheet of vellum, which was cut slightly smaller than the patterned papers themselves for a sort of frame and had been stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "MAY YOUR HOLIDAYS BE MERRY & BRIGHT" sentiment; and anchoring them all with white-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
I then stamped the wreath, in Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, and Real Red inks, on a White, cardstock die cut; popped it off the center of the card face with foam tape; and tucked a Crate Paper, deer die cut into its center. The deer was then draped with a string of Christmas lights. The lights were white-embossed on vellum; colored, on the backside, with five shades of yellow, orange, and green colored pencils; and hand-cut out.
A bit of white, seam binding ribbon, tied in a bow and embellished with a red, button berry, laced with white string and flanked with a couple of stamped, in Garden Green and Chocolate Chip inks, holly leaves, as well as a sprinkling of gold sequins, completes the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from Simon Says Stamps' Monday Challenge: Throwback (I chose the March 2014 Challenge: Transparent.) and Cupcake Inspirations' Challenge #333: Stars.
And here's this week's Creative Challenge No. 95 graphic to get you going in the right direction.{Supplies & Tools}
