Hello Little Baby

Friday, October 16, 2015

I have a little different, for me, card to share today.  I can't decide if I like it or not, and I'm not sure why.  I think it's the exorbitant amount of time it took to complete that I'm struggling with.  Anyway, it's another baby card.  Those kiddos are popping up all over the place!  Enjoy!
I started this card by white embossing the woodgrain circles on a piece of watercolor paper.  I then watercolored the images, as well as the space around them, in Daffodil Delight, Pistachio Pudding, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, and Brocade Blue inks.  A few drips of watered-down Brocade Blue ink, as well as spots of Wink of Stella and white gel pen, prep it for a strip of light blue, stripe, patterned paper, which was stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "hello little baby {welcome home!}" sentiment and adhered across the bottom of the prepped piece.
White-threaded, straight, machine stitches anchor everything to the Brocade Blue, cardstock, card face.  A length of soft green, seam binding ribbon was then wrapped, around the card face, between the watercolor and patterned papers; tied, in a double bow, near the right edge of the card face; and embellished with a waxed chord bow and large pearl.
The woodland friends images were then stamped, on watercolor paper, from left to right, in Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar, and Wild Wasabi inks.  A little Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, and Garden Green inks add highlights with a water brush.
They were all hand-cut out and adhered with foam tape.  A sprinkling of Sparkling Clear sequins completes the look.
Inspiration for this card came from Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge: Wonderful Watercolor...
Cupcake Inspirations' Challenge 331: Forest Friends...
and Let's Capture Our Memories' Card Sketch #134.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a truly fantastic weekend, friends!  Hugs!
