Morning, friends! We've got another monochromatic palette, for you to play with, this week, over at
Colour Me...!, and the key to this one is neutrals. Here's how I was inspired.
I started this card by piecing a trio of neutral, patterned papers together; rounding their collective bottom corners; and splattering them with Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paints. I knew I wanted to get a little more texture across those colors and have seen this splattering technique done super well out in blogland. So, I dove in feet first and absolutely love the result! I then anchored the resulting piece, along with a stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a strip of vellum, "Season's Greetings" sentiment, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, to the Oatmeal, cardstock, card face, which, too, had its bottom corners rounded.
The center of the card face was wrapped with a bit of wide, ivory lace and a length of seam binding ribbon, the latter of which was tied, in a double bow, near the left edge and embellished with a lone pearl.
The ornament and bit of holly were black-embossed on watercolor paper; watercolored in shades of Old Paper, Antique Linen, Tea Dye, & Pumice Stone Distress Inks; hand-cut out; splattered with more of those scrumptious, acrylic paints; and adhered, in their respective locations, with foam tape, to complete the look.
Here's this week's
