Colour Me... Playful!

Wednesday, November 25, 2015

Happy Wednesday to you all!  Just stopping in to share my take on Colour Me...!'s newest palette.  We're looking for Stampin' Up's Melon Mambo, Rose Red, Rich Razzleberry, & Perfect Plum this week.  Enjoy!
I started this card by smudging, from bottom to top, Melon Mambo, Rose Red, Rich Razzleberry, & Perfect Plum inks across a piece of die-cut, White cardstock.  Both Spun Sugar and Dusty Concord Distress Inks helped blend the colors together.  I then stamped it, in Jet Black ink, with the trio of trees and splattered it with Titanium White acrylic paint to add a little snowfall.  The glistening hill was hand-cut from White cardstock; coated with glitter; and topped with the carolers, which were stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a Whisper White, cardstock die cut; splattered with a little more snowfall; and adhered, in their respective position, with foam tape.  The entire scene was then framed with a white, striped, patterned paper die cut...
and white-embossed with the "sending holiday CHEER" sentiment before being adhered, with foam tape, in the center of the prepped, White, cardstock, card face.  To prepare the card face, I rounded its bottom corners and anchored a couple of bright pink, patterned papers, which also had their combined bottom corners rounded, in the center of the card face, with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
I then wrapped a length of white seam binding ribbon, horizontally, around the card face, over the connection of the two patterned papers; tied it, in a double bow, near the left edge; and embellished it with a bit of waxed chord, tied in a bow, as well as a purple gemstone.  A sprinkling of Sparkling Clear sequins completes the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from Always Playing with Paper's Challenge #52: Create a Christmas Card...
House of Cards' November Challenge: Stamped and Cut Window Technique...
and Wplus9 Design's Throwback Thursday #9.  I loved Maureen's third card in that post, especially the little scene, and re-created my own version of it here.
And here's this week's Creative Challenge No. 99 graphic to get you going in the right direction.

Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of the team was inspired.  We'd also be honored to have you play along with us!  You have until 12 noon EST, on Monday, November 30, 2015, to link up your takes over at that same challenge link above.  And don't forget to check out last week's Creative Challenge No. 98 Top Picks, too.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be blessed!
