Colour Me... Subtle!

Wednesday, November 18, 2015

Morning, friends!  I really didn't mean to be away from here for so long, but sick kids often lead to a sick mommy, and the ickies have been going around my place.  I'm here today, though, and I've got this week's Colour Me...! challenge.  We're looking for creations boasting Stampin' Up's Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, and Cherry Cobbler this time.  Here's how I was inspired.
I started this card by stamping the bottom right corner of a piece of Whisper White cardstock, in Soft Suede ink, with the "Grateful GREETINGS" sentiment; debossing the piece with tiny polka dots; and trimming its left side with a piece of hand-cut, burgundy, polka dot, patterned paper, as well as a strip of yellow, stripe, patterned paper.  The entire thing was then anchored, to the White, cardstock, card face, with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
The top edge of the card face was then wrapped with a length of twine, tied, in a bow, just left of vertical center.
Both the small and large leaves were stamped in Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, & Chocolate Chip inks, on White cardstock, using the brown inks not only for the foundation of some of the leaves themselves, but also to ink the edges.  All of the leaves were then hand-cut out and scattered, with a trio of gold, sequin leaves, along the hand-cut and stitched arch of the burgundy, polka dot, patterned paper, to complete the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from Simon Says Stamps' Monday Challenge: Thanks/Thanksgiving and Wplus9 Design's Get Sketchy #4.
And here's this week's Creative Challenge No. 98 graphic to get you going in the right direction.
Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of the team was inspired.  We'd also be honored to have you play along with us!  You have until 12 noon EST, on Monday, November 23, 2015, to link up your takes over at that same challenge link above.  And don't forget to check out last week's Creative Challenge No. 97 Top Picks, too.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Sending my thoughts and prayers to the precious people of Paris, too.  Be blessed!
