Reverse Confetti: Believe

Thursday, November 19, 2015

Morning, y'all!  Just popping in to share a page I created, of my little bear's first Christmas, using lots of fun goodies from Reverse Confetti.  Enjoy!
I started this page by smudging Leaf Glimmer Mist and Pickle Mister Huey's onto a wide strip of woodgrain, pattern paper, which had been framed with both a red, "Merry Christmas", patterned paper and lime, polka dot, paper strip, both of which were anchored with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  I then smeared a little Barn Door Distress ink through a star stencil; stamped it, in Jet Black ink, with the snowflakes from Jolly Holiday; threw a few vellum, Wreaths die cuts about; and sprinkled everything with Titanium White and Pure Black, acrylic paints before anchoring a trio of patterned papers, down the vertical center of my woodgrain panel, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitching and topping them with my photos, which were matted with Whisper White cardstock.
A Whisper White, cardstock, Cameo-cut, "Believe" title, which I also glittered, along with a stamped, in Jet Black ink, "REMEMBER THIS DEC 05 2014" date, grounds the look.
A Holly Jolly Quick Card Panel, die-cut using the Topped Off Tag Confetti Cuts die and topped with a White, cardstock, Hang Ups die cut, through which was laced a length of Baker's Twine, rounds out the photo grid.  I also stamped the tag, in Jet Black ink, with the word "christmas" from Winter Word Coordinates and embellished it with a Holly die cut, cut from a green, feather, patterned paper; White cardstock; and red, glitter paper, as well as a sweet Santa.  Those Quick Card Panels are so, stinkin' fabulous, they've already sold out.
Let's take a look at that Jolly Holiday Santa a little closer.  He was black-embossed on a White, cardstock die cut; watercolored in shades of Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Pumice Stone, Lucky Limeade, Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray, Blush Blossom, and Pretty in Pink inks; and given a few kisses of glitter for his trimmings.  I then backed him with a little tangle of black thread and popped him up with foam tape.
Another tangle of black thread tops a length of black, floral Washi Tape and backs a red button, laced with white string, along the edge of my woodgrain, patterned paper...
and a stamped, in Jet Black ink, "merry christmas!", as well as a trio of additional, red buttons, laced with white string, completes the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from Picture This' November 1st Challenge (scraps, die cuts, & buttons) and Let's Get Sketchy's November Week 2 Sketch.  I took a few liberties with the latter, but I think you'll still find the foundation is there.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'm signing off a little early again for the weekend, but I'll be back first thing next week with a fabulous, new challenge from The Studio.  Hugs!
