The Studio Fall Challenge

Sunday, November 8, 2015

Hey, y'all!  Just popping in with my take on The Studio's newest challenge.  With the holidays suddenly encroaching on our free time, Anna has made this one super easy for us.  We want to see your pages about fall.  This one was a no-brainer for me, as every fall, my family takes a trip to the apple orchard to pick apples for the purpose of turning them into homemade apple butter gifts for the holidays.  The photos below were of my littlest's first trip with us.  He just sat in the shade and soaked up all the activity.
I started this page by rubbing Pumice Stone Distress Ink, through a chevron stencil, onto the woodgrain, star, patterned, paper, base page.  I then stamped it, in Cherry Cobbler, Bashful Blue, and Jet Black inks respectively, with the arrows, mixture of circles, and leaves.  A quartet of patterned papers were then anchored, just right of vertical center, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  A couple more prints were anchored, in the same way, along with a bit of vellum, just under my photos, which were matted with Whisper White cardstock.
I then grounded the photos with my "FREE falling" title, which was created from corrugated, letter stickers and a Cameo-cut, from textured, Going Gray cardstock, "falling", which I also softened the edges of with Tea Dye and Antique Linen Distress Inks.  A "PLACE", Schweizer Orchards, chipboard label...
along with a hand-cut, red, chevron, patterned, paper heart, secured with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches; chipboard, journaling circle; silhouette, flair button; and stamped, in Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, and Soft Suede inks, on White cardstock and hand-cut apple, all atop a nest of black thread, anchor the title itself.
An upcycled, clothing tag, which I laced with Baker's Twine, was tucked under the right side of the photos...
and a "THIS WAS:" tag, which I filled in with the stamped, in Jet Black ink, on vellum, "September 22 2014" date, along with a "LOVE YOU", chipboard, rounded rectangle...
"remember", cardstock sticker; and stamped, in Jet Black ink, "You always make me smile" phrase, tops them.
A splattering of Titanium White, acrylic paint and Tinsel Color Shine mist; bunch of hand-cut, from patterned paper, leaves scattered about; and number of white, enamel hearts add texture and detail.  And a stamped, in Jet Black ink, "falling for you" phrase brings everything right back to the title itself.
Further inspiration for this page came from ScrapMuch?'s November Colour Challenge...
and Scrap Our Stash's Stash Challenge #32: Albums (A = apple & arrows; L = leaves, corrugated letter stickers, & "LOVE YOU" chipboard phrase; B = Bashful Blue ink, Baker's Twine, & flair button; U = upcycled clothing tag; M = Tinsel Color Shine mist & machine-stitching; S = stamping, stenciling, Silhouette Cameo, Schweizer Orchards, "Smile", & September).
You have until Sunday, December 6, 2015, to link up your takes in the right-hand column of The Studio Blog.  Can't wait to see what you all cook up!  Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a blessed week!
