The Challenge #58

Monday, January 25, 2016

Morning, friends!  Just popping in, on this crisp, Monday morning, with my take on a fabulous, masculine inspiration photo from The Challenge.  Here goes.
I started his card by piecing a couple patterned, paper strips onto a black, stripe, patterned, paper piece.  I then anchored the prior with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches and trimmed the space between them with a die-cut, Black, cardstock scallop.  The vellum pocket was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "driving by with a birthday 'Hi'!" sentiment; stuffed with lots of blue, mint, and silver star sequins, as well as silver seed beads; and enclosed with more black-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
I then topped it, before securing everything, with foam tape, to the White, cardstock, card face, with a length of bright blue ribbon, which was tied, in a bow, near the right edge of the prepped piece.
A die-cut, patterned, paper star was adhered, with foam tape, just to the left of the bow and topped with a black-embossed, on watercolor paper, truck.  The truck itself was watercolored; hand-cut out; backed with a tangle of black thread; and adhered, with foam tape, front and center to complete the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from Simon Says Stamps' Wednesday Challenge: Create with Critters.  Aside from the pups on today's card, here's me and my most favorite critter ever.
Continued inspiration for this card came from Sugar Pea Design's Sugar Sketch Challenge 37...
and here's your The Challenge #58 masculine inspiration graphic to get you going in the right direction.  I just had to pull out my nearly vintage now ;) Loads of Love stamp set for that truck.  I, also, was obviously drawn to all the scrumptious shades of green and blue in the photo.
Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of the team was inspired.  You have until Sunday, January 31, 2016, at noon PST, to add your takes to the linky at that same challenge link above.  And don't forget to check out The Challenge #57 Winners, too.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful work week, friends!  XOXO
