Guest Designing for Inspired by All the Little Things

Saturday, April 9, 2016

Morning, y'all, and welcome to the weekend!  I'm super excited to be here today guest designing, with my sweet friend Jeanne, at Inspired by All the Little Things.  We've picked out a scrumptious photo to inspire your creative time for the next week.  Here's how I was inspired.  Enjoy!
I started this card by piecing together the blue floral and bright pink, polka dot, patterned prints and trimming their meeting point with a strip of bright pink, stripe, patterned paper.  I then adhered a scrap piece of black, chevron, patterned paper, which had its middle cut in the shape of circle, near their combined center and splattered everything with Jack Frost Glimmer Mist and Pure Black & Titanium White acrylic paints.
Once it was dry, I anchored each bit, along with the stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a strip of vellum, "Fresh picked birthday wishes just for you!" sentiment, to a slightly larger piece of Pacific Point cardstock, with bright-pink-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
I then wrapped a length of white seam binding ribbon, around the prepped piece, just left of vertical center; tied it, in a double bow, near the top edge; and embellished its center with a bright pink button, laced with a Baker's Twine bow.  My sister-in-law says red and hot pink don't go together, but I wholeheartedly disagree ;).
After adhering the prepped piece, with foam tape, to the white, cardstock, card face, I stamped a little, woodgrain frame, in White ink, on a Kraft, cardstock die cut, which had its edges distressed with Tea Dye & Antique Linen inks, and adhered it, with foam tape, just to the bottom right of the embellished bow, revealing a bit of the scrap piece's circle center for interest.  Finally, I stamped the berries and their leaves, in Not Quite Navy, Wild Wasabi, Strawberry Slush, Real Red, and Rich Razzleberry inks, on White, cardstock die cuts and adhered them, stacked in the center of the stamped frame, with foam tape.  That raspberry is looking awfully red here, but I promise it's bright pink.  A bit of Clear Wink of Stella, for shine, completes the look.
Here's this week's Challenge #10 graphic to get your creative juices flowing.
Be sure to stop by that same challenge link above to see how the newly-formed Design Team was inspired, as well as to get all of your challenge details.  Thanks so much to Jeanne, Lesley, and the entire Inspired by All the Little Things Design Team for having me this week!  I'll be back tomorrow with a brand new sketch-inspired challenge from The Studio.  Until then, thanks for dropping by my little corner of the web!  Be blessed!
