Paper Sweeties April Release Rewind

Friday, April 15, 2016

Today's the day, y'all!  Hello Spring and its coordinating Sweet Cuts die are now available for the taking in the Paper Sweeties Boutique.
But before you're off to picking up yours, if you haven't done so already, I've got one final, unseasonal use for it to share with you all.
I started this card by trimming the top edge of a piece of red, star, patterned paper with a Christmas tree print and anchoring them both, with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitches, to the white, cardstock, card face.  I then wrapped a length of Cupcake seam binding ribbon, around the card face, over the prints' connection; tied it, in a double bow, near the right edge; and embellished it with an ivory, button blossom, laced with Baker's Twine, tied in a bow.
A Quick Card Panel forms the backing for my focal point.  Its base once had vertical, black stripes; but I wanted to stamp it, in Jet Black ink, with a Paper Sweeties "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" sentiment.  So, I covered them with a kraft, chevron print before stamping and then trimmed its edges with more gold-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
After adhering it, in the middle of the card face, with foam tape, I dressed up its own top center with the wreath, which was stamped, in Garden Green ink, on a Garden Green, ink-distressed die cut.  The wreath's base was then dressed up with the candle image, which I white-embossed on watercolor paper, watercolored, and hand-cut out.  I then popped it up with foam tape and tucked a number of stamped, in Old Olive ink, on watercolor paper and watercolored, mistletoe branches under its edges.  Clear Wink of Stella gives shine to the candle image itself, and Xmas Red Stickles adds sparkle to the berries.  Painted, with Titanium White acrylic paint, mistletoe berries complete the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from Cupcake Inspirations' Challenge 335: Patterns...
and Sunday Stamps' Challenge 124.

Don't forget to make the rounds, too, and thanks so much for all the kind and encouraging words you've left me throughout this release!  It's been so fun getting back on the side of showing off new and never-seen-before goodies for you all, and I can't wait to dive into the darling goodies Debbie has in store for May.  Until I'm permitted to showcase them here, I hope you'll stop in, now and again, to see what I've been working on.  We'd also love to have you play along with the current April Inspiration Challenge #42.
Thanks again for giving me a little of your precious time.  Have a truly fabulous weekend, y'all!  Hugs!
