Paper Sweeties April Release Sneak Peek

Wednesday, April 13, 2016

It's the middle of April, friends, and that means new goodies for the Paper Sweeties Boutique.  Woohoo!
Debbie has cooked up a darling new stamp set and coordinating Sweet Cuts die set called Hello Spring, and I've used them in combination with Sending Sweet Thoughts, as well as its coordinating Sweet Cuts die; a healthy dose of Bubblegum sequins; and a bit of Mint seam binding ribbon from the Paper Sweeties Boutique, to kick things off.  Just as a couple of side notes... Debbie has the BEST seam binding ribbon around.  LOVE!  And the links for each and every Paper Sweeties product I've used, throughout this release, can always be found in my {Supplies & Tools} section at the bottom of my posts.
I started this card by trimming the left edge of a piece of pink, block, patterned paper with a strip of gray, star, patterned paper, as well as a punched strip of white cardstock, which I totally know is being washed out by the sunshine in these photographs; anchoring all three, with white-threaded, straight, machine stitches, to a white, cardstock, card face; and stamping the gray print, in Jet Black ink, with the "Hello Spring!" sentiment.
I then used my Cameo to cut a door from Dove Grey cardstock; distressed its edges with Tea Dye, Antique Linen, and Pumice Stone Distress Inks; backed it with both a piece of vellum and a burgundy, polka dot, patterned paper; and adhered it, near the right edge of the card face, with foam tape.  The wreath was stamped, in Baked Brown Sugar ink, on a piece of watercolor paper, which I had watercolored with a bit of a brown stain.  I then die-cut it out; sprinkled it with Titanium White acrylic paint; and dressed it up with a number of blossom die cuts, which were stamped in Jet Black ink, watercolored, and given dimension with foam tape, as well as lots of scrumptious, Bubblegum sequins.
A length of Mint seam binding ribbon, tied in a double bow and embellished with a lone pearl, completes the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from House of Cards' April Challenge: Add Script and/or Color Inspiration...
Cupcake Inspirations' Challenge 335: Patterns...
and Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge: April Showers Bring May Flowers, Wednesday Challenge: Lets do the Polka...
and Work It Wednesday: Use Something Pastel.
That gets us started, folks.  If you're liking what you're seeing, be sure to check out what the rest of the team has cooked up.  Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope to see you all right back here at the same time tomorrow!  Until then, be blessed!
