The Challenge #67

Monday, April 4, 2016

Hey, y'all!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Adina had her first soccer game, and her team, literally, scored in the last seconds of the game to win.  Woohoo!  She's never played before and needs to learn how to protect the ball, but she got in there as often as she could and had such fun in the process.  We even caught her watching Sporting KC on the television, which tends to get left on any time my hubby is home and there's a sporting event on, when no one else was around on Saturday night.  Love that!  So, anyway, I've got a brand new sketch, from The Challenge, to get your creative juices flowing this week.  Here's how I was inspired.
I stared this card by watercoloring a blue, splotchy sky onto a piece of watercolor paper.  I then splattered it with more of the same colors it was watercolored with, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  Once it was dry, I anchored it, along with the stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a vellum, banner die cut, "hope your day is all sunshine & rainbows" sentiment, to a slightly larger piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock, with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitches and adhered it, with foam tape, to the white, cardstock, card face.
The clouds and rainbow were then die-cut from Rose Red, Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise, and Whisper White cardstocks respectively and adhered, some with foam tape, in their respective positions.  The sun was stamped, in Daffodil Delight ink, on white cardstock; hand-cut out; and tucked in behind the rainbow and top-most cloud.  A sprinkling of Sparkling Clear sequins, as well as a coating of clear glitter for the clouds, completes the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from Simon Says Stamps' Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes and Sunday Stamps' Challenge 123: Rainbow Fun.
Here's your The Challenge #67 sketch to get you started.
Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of the team was inspired.  You have until Sunday, April 10, 2016, at noon PST, to add your takes to the linky at that same challenge link above.  And don't forget to check out The Challenge #66 Winners, too.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week!
