Paper Sweeties May Release Party

Saturday, May 14, 2016

Hey, y'all!  I hope the weekend is treating you well.  We've been running around at the soccer fields and celebrating the end of the season, with a pizza party, with Adina's team today; but I'm back this evening with another creation, boasting a super sweet, new May Release from Paper Sweeties
This card was made for my brother-in-law and his fiance for their wedding next weekend.  I really don't know much about the wedding itself and have never met the bride; but I tried to personalize things a little by giving Abigail red hair like I've seen in photos of the bride, and Jake got red shoes like both she and the groom will be wearing.
I started this card by using one of our new dies to emboss a piece of watercolor paper with rows of hearts.  I wish the camera were catching it better, as it really adds a lot to the overall feel of this creation.  I then added a watercolor wash to the top of it, before speckling it with more of that same watercolor, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints, and anchoring it, to the white, cardstock, card face, with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
Jake and Abigail were then stamped side-by side, in Jet Black ink, on another piece of watercolor paper; watercolored; and dressed with their coordinating suit, including a bow tie, and wedding dress, which were prepared in the same way as the bride and groom themselves.  Although it's difficult to tell, Abigail's flowers, bow, and cheeks were also given a bit of shine with clear Wink of Stella.  I then speckled their combined edges in the same way I did the embossed panel and framed them with both Pool Party cardstock, as well as more silver-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before adhering them in the center of the card face.
A length of Baker's Twine was wrapped around the card face and tied in a bow...
through the silver eyelets set to either end of the "To Have and To Hold" sentiment, which was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a vellum die cut.  A sprinkling of Frosting sequins, from the Paper Sweeties Boutique, completes the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from House of Card's May Challenge: Clear Papers...
and Simon Says Stamps' Monday Challenge: Emboss It.
Don't forget, once again, to pop in to see what the Design Team has cooked up just for your viewing pleasure.  Until tomorrow's final, May Release post, thanks so much for humbling me with a visit!  Be blessed!
