The Studio Recipe Challenge

Morning, y'all!  Just stopping in with my take on The Studio's latest challenge.  It's a Recipe Challenge to use as many things from the list below as you possibly can.

Sewing
Lace
Pink
Paint or ink splatters
Enamel dots (I used enamel stars.)
Kraft color
Star
Stenciling
Doily

My big kiddo has been on a Mexico mission trip, with his dad, all week; and he'll only be home for a couple of days before he's out the door for another week at church camp.  Needless to say, I've been missing him.  So, I managed to use our entire recipe list, not to mention some fabulous goodies from this month's Citrus Twist Kit, as I put together this page of one of our dates last spring.
I started this page by trimming the top and right sides of a piece of star, patterned paper with a navy, triangle, patterned print; but then, I didn't like it so much and decided to add the trimmed strips back on with just a little of the navy print peeking through.  I then anchored them, as well as a trio of vertical, patterned, paper strips, with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before smudging the background of my main cluster and little "extra" with Patina Glimmer Mist.   A few stamped, in Jet Black ink, and modeling paste stars, along with a little splattering with the same Glimmer Mist mentioned above, as well as Sky Mister Huey's and Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints, prep the page for my photo.  The photo itself was matted with white cardstock and backed with a little cheesecloth, along with a bit of vellum and a paper doily.  An aqua Polaroid and a manila tag, laced with aqua twine, embellished with a bit of lace and tied in a bow, were tucked under its right side.
An acetate, "selfie" arrow, as well as an aqua label, anchored with a simple staple, filled in with the "movie night" sticker, and trimmed with a floral die cut, dress up the photo's top edge...
and a "you & me" die cut grounds it.
I then stapled a "SO VERY SPECIAL" banner die cut, over a hand-cut, blue label, just below the title.  An acetate, "family" bit received the same treatment and turns our attention to the "extra" cluster.
The foundation of this smaller cluster is the ticket stubs from our afternoon of fun.  It was dressed up with a number of die-cut bits, one of which was anchored with a staple; another of which was secured with foam tape; and yet another of which was used to house my journaling, which reads, Love dates with my big boy!  A "don't forget this" cut-away frame and "love this to bits" sticker complete the bulk of the cluster; and a trio of silver, puffy, heart stickers, as well as a number of wood chip, enamel, and acetate stars, not to mention a couple lengths of silver, chevron Washi Tape, complete the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from Stuck?! Sketches' June 1st Challenge, which I rotated 90 degrees to the right...
and Citrus Twist's June 11th 3 to Inspire Challenge to (1) use an entire piece of patterned paper as your background, (2) have one main cluster and one little "extra", and (3) go heavy on the layering.
You have until Sunday, July 3, 2016, to link up your takes, on this Recipe Challenge and/or our Sketch Challenge, in the right-hand column of The Studio blog.  Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of our talented team was inspired.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Father's Day to all those amazing dads out there, and have a fantastic week, y'all!
