Pretty Little Studio: Dream

Monday, July 25, 2016

Welcome to the work week, y'all!  I'm thrilled to be back, sharing a dreamy page for Pretty Little Studio.  It seems like just yesterday my little guy was napping, in his crib, at the foot of our bed, with his buns in the air and his cheek smashed against the mattress.  Even though he's now moved to the bottom bunk in a room with his sister, this particular position is still his choice for sleeping any time of the day or night.
I started this page by using my Cameo to cut the Heart of Hearts, background cut file from a textured, soft gray cardstock and had fun filling in each opening with a happy assortment of prints.  I then smudged Sky and Sunshine Mister Huey's, as well as Patina Glimmer Mist, over everything, just behind where my photos would lie.  The background was then splattered with those same mists, along with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  My photos were matted with white cardstock; stacked one over the other; and backed with a bit of torn vellum, scrap of cheesecloth, and piece of Gray Here Vellum.  The "Dream" title was Cameo-cut from Pool Party cardstock; glittered; and adhered, near the top of the page, over a couple of layered Fluffy Clouds, which, although it's difficult to tell in these photos, I embossed with polka dots for a little texture.  A "naptime" sticker was adhered to a starry frame and tucked into the top of the design as well.
The main cluster, in the bottom left corner of the photos, began with that sweet Baby Conner Vintage Die Cut.  It was backed with a tangle of silver thread, as well as a couple of white, cardstock, branch die cuts, and sandwiched between another polka-dot-embossed cloud and "ordinary day" phrase strip, which I hand-cut into a banner.
The whole cluster was grounded with a long, green, cut-apart label, which I stamped, in Jet Black ink, with "heaven sent", as well as a couple of Robin Garland Flags and an "adorable" flair button.
A couple of tags, both of which were laced with white string, were layered under the top edge of the moon die cut.
Another tag, which had also been laced with white string, was tucked, between the present layers and bottom portion of a blue Salt Lake Clear Shipping Tag, to the right of the bottom photo.  I also added a Rose Bush Tab, which I used to etch the Sept. 26, 2014, date, along the right-side edge of that same photo.
Near the top of the design, above my title, you'll find one final, polka-dot-embossed cloud, embellished with a yellow, confetti star and silver, puffy heart, both of which you'll find more of scattered throughout the design itself, along with an "adventure awaits" phrase die cut.
An "i love you" phrase sticker and scattering of clear, star confetti complete the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from Let's Get Sketchy's July Week 1 Challenge, which I rotated 90 degrees to the right.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have an amazing week, friends!
