Pretty Little Studio: You Are My World

Friday, July 15, 2016

Happy Friday, y'all!  Just popping in to share a sweet page, boasting pics of my little bear and his daddy, my hubby, for the Pretty Little Studio Blog today.  As soon as I saw that Baby B's Dad Vintage Die Cut, I knew the green color of the dad's shirt would match these pics flawlessly.  I also knew that fabulous, gold foil, pocket card would make the perfect title, and the rest was history.
I started this page by watercoloring a piece of 12x12 watercolor paper in shades of blue and green.  I then stamped it, in Night of Navy, Wild Wasabi, Pool Party, and Daffodil Delight inks, with an array of circles, as well as, in Jet Black ink, with the stars.  A few modeling paste stars were then added through a stencil.  My combination of layered prints were laid in place before splattering everything with the same colors of watercolors used above, along with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints; but they weren't anchored, with blue-threaded, straight, machine stitching, until after everything was dry.  My photos were then matted with white cardstock and adhered, in the center of the design, in a wonky grid pattern, with the bottom right corner housing the gold, foil, "You are my world", pocket card title.  Just to the left of the card, I adhered the Baby B's Dad Vintage Die Cut with foam tape.  A hand-cut, "good times", phrase strip was layered over a hand-cut, green label in its bottom right corner; and both were anchored with a simple "5" number tag, to represent the number of months old my little guy was at the time these photos were taken, adhered with foam tape.
A stamped, in Jet Black ink, "REMEMBER" and "moment captured" die cut ground the design.
Moving clockwise, a hand-cut, yellow, star flag was backed with a gold metallic label; topped with an "everyday magic" die cut; tucked under a "little man" flair button; and embellished with a die-cut, white, cardstock branch and tiny, green, butterfly die cut.
I wanted to tie a little more yellow into the top of the page, so I trimmed the bottom edge off a Salt Lake Clear Shipping Tag and tucked it under the mix of prints.  I then popped a "happiness" ticket up with foam tape and slipped a tab, etched with the July 2, 2014, date, under the top left photo.
Another clear shipping tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow; "da-da" word sticker; and scattering of Baby Avery Yellow Confetti Mix, as well as gold, star sequins, completes the look.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Now, get out there, and put a little magic into your weekends!  Hugs!
