Pretty Little Studio: Fly Higher

Sunday, August 7, 2016

Hey, y'all!  Happy Sunday!  Just stopping in to share a fun page, inspired by Pretty Little Studio's newest Here Comes the Sun collection.  Enjoy!
I started this page by watercoloring a 12x12 piece of watercolor paper in a couple shades of blue.  I then stamped a few hot air balloons, in Pacific Point ink, throughout the design; added a little texture by smudging modeling paste through a plus stencil; and splattered everything with those same blue watercolors mentioned above, as well as bright pink and yellow watercolors and Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  I then popped up my "fly higher, shine BRIGHTER" title, which was made completely from some of the gorgeous die cuts in this stunning collection, with foam tape.
The hot air balloons and clouds were then tucked in and around the design, along with some of Woodland's Monarch Die Cuts...
and a happy, little sun, which I couldn't resist dressing up with glitter, tops the design.
A playful mix of prints and papers, including a bit of vellum and France Frame, were then anchored, with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitches, under each respective photo, both of which were matted with white cardstock.  A Gold Metallic Label Tag houses my July and August 2015 date; and another butterfly die cut brings us counterclockwise down to the bottom half of the page...
where you'll find my journaling, which reads, Your reading ability really took off this summer, & you were so excited to show off your new-found freedom @ the start of 1st grade.  There's nothing stopping you now, beautiful!  A quartet of phrase stickers...

stamped, in Jet Black ink, "dream BIG and REACH high" phrase; and a hand-cut Paradise Phrase Strip, which I secured behind a heart flair button, complete the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from the colors of Picture This!'s August 1st Mood Board Challenge.
I cannot tell you how much I adore this collection!  I hope you do, too!  Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a truly wonderful week, friends!  Hugs!
