Poppystamps & Birch Press Blog Hop

Tuesday, October 4, 2016

Morning, y'all, and welcome to the Poppystamps and Birch Press Designs Blog Hop!  You should be coming here via Jeanne Jachna's blog; but if you didn't or simply want to start at the beginning, a complete list of hop participants can be found at the bottom of this post.
I started this card by covering the front of a white, cardstock, card face with a piece of green, script, patterned paper and topping it with paper layers, die-cut from a woodgrain, patterned paper, as well as Ballet Slippers and Pistachio Pudding cardstocks, using Birch Press' fabulous Circa Layer Set.
I then created that gorgeous Holiday Poinsettia by watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper in the shades used to piece it together; splattering it with the same colors, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints; and, of course, die-cutting and piecing it together, separating the layers with foam tape.
The "LET HEAVEN AND NATURE SING" sentiment was white-embossed on a strip of Black cardstock; tucked under the bottom right edge of the poinsettia itself; and popped off the surface of the card face with foam tape.
A double, white, seam binding ribbon bow, embellished with a Baker's Twine bow, as well as a lone pearl, completes the look.
Now, off you go to Laurie Schmidlin's blog.  There are two $25 gift certificates are up for grabs... one from Poppystamps and the other from Birch Press.  So, be sure to leave lots of love along the way.  You have until 12 am EST, on Sunday, October 9, 2016, to do so; and a winner will be announced, on the Poppystamps blog, on Tuesday, October 11, 2016.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a terrific Tuesday, and happy hopping, friends!

The poinsettias are great and the background die is so interesting. I'm wondering is you could make a slider with a msg on it that you could read through the little holes in it. When I looked at your card I just thought of that. Very inspiring card. Thank you!
