Creative Scrappers November Reveal

Tuesday, November 1, 2016

Morning, y'all, and welcome to November!  A new month means a playful, new sketch is up, to start things out right, over at Creative Scrappers.  We've paired up with My Creative Scrapbook this month.  So, be sure to watch the blog for their Design Team's mid-month reveal.  For today, though, my teammates and I have cooked up our takes on the sketch.  Here's mine.
I started this page by playing with lots of scraps of a variety of patterned papers, most of which came from my October Citrus Twist Waverly Scrapbook Kit.  I did, however, add lime wave and orange, open circles prints, from my stash, just to pull in more of the colors from Pinkfresh's Indigo Hills die cuts.  They were all randomly tossed into the grid design to create lots of happy layers; and a number of them were anchored with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitches; before I splattered everything with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints and adhered my photos, which were matted with white cardstock.  The "play this" title was created from a silver, glitter, Thicker "play" and blue acrylic letters to spell "this", all backed with a blue-framed, postage stamp die cut.
A teal, cut-apart label, upon which I etched the Jan./Feb. 2010 date, was tucked under the top edge of the top center photo, which was grounded with a "Follow your dreams, they know the way" die cut and "don't be afraid to fail" phrase sticker.
Before the below prints were stitched into place, I tucked a wax envelope, housing a manila tag, laced with blue twine, under them.  They were then topped with the "everyday has a story" die cut, which I popped up with foam tape and backed with a die-cut, vellum star.  You'll find a number more of those vellum stars, in varying sizes, scattered throughout the design.
The bottom right photo had blue, paint chip and "celebrate every tiny victory" die cuts, the latter of which was grounded with a "weekend plans" phrase sticker, tucked under it; and a trio of silver, glitter, chevron Thickers point the way to fun and help balance the title in the opposite, diagonal corner.
A "this life noted" die cut, to which I added a little Glossy Accents for shine, was backed with a tangle of silver thread and popped up with foam tape in the bottom center of the design.
In finishing our clockwise movement, the bottom left photo was dressed up with a "Simple life" die cut...
and a "RAIN OR SHINE" cut-apart and number strip die cut were tucked under opposite, vertical sides of the left-side center photo.  A scattering of puffy, star stickers and silver, star sequins, not to mention a number of stamped, throughout the design, in Jet Black ink, phrases, complete the look.
Here's your November Sketch #300 to get you off and scrapping in the right direction.
Kristine's got a cut file to make this one all the easier on you.  You can download it absolutely FREE here.
