PLS Thursday Tip: Fall in Love Everyday

Thursday, November 3, 2016

Hey, friends!  I'm up again on the Pretty Little Studio blog; and yes, I'm still playing with Ashley Horton's Oakley Avenue Collection.  It just makes me ever so happy!  So, let's just dive right in.  Oh, and if you can hang in there with me until the end, I've got a really fun Thursday Tip for getting multiple photos onto a single page.  Enjoy!
I started this page by painting a number of shades of watercolor onto the 12" x 12" watercolor, base page and stamping both the grid background and little hearts, in Jet Black ink, throughout.  I then carefully laid down a number of coordinating prints in a messy, grid design; splattered everything with the same shades of watercolor mentioned above, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints; and anchored my patterned papers with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  A "fall In LovE" Apple Cider Journaling Card, along with a Cameo-cut, from Cherry Cobbler cardstock, "everyday" created my title.
A Cambridge 4" Doily had been tucked under its bottom left corner, which was also embellished with a couple of die-cut hearts, as well as a Foxy Fall Flair Button, backed with a tangle of gold thread.
Just to the right of this cluster, I backed a "SNUGGLE" Feelin' Fallish Die Cut and "comfy" Orchard Words Die Cut with a Gold Metallic Journaling Card.  A Cameo-cut, from Coastal Cabana cardstock, "together" and combined trio of Fall Words and Think Positive Stickers complete the grouping.
The opposite diagonal corner houses a "TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY" Apple Cider Journaling Card, which was grounded with a folded sheet of Cross My Heart Gold Metallic Vellum and reads, Just hanging out, trying to get a rare photo of us together.  We finally got a good one only to discover Jana's (my little sister's) bunny ears in the background.  So, we tried & tried & tried, through hysterical laughter, again; before we were finally successful.  Thurs., Nov. 24, 2011.  A couple more Think Positive Stickers dress up the left edge...
and a Jolly Acrylics "memories" (which gives you a little taste of another brand spankin' new collection, Holly Jolly, that I'm sure to be diving into right away... Yum!), as well as more fabulous, heart die cuts, embellishes the top edge.
A number more of those heart die cuts, a few of which were popped up with foam tape and a few more of which were tucked under my prints, before they were anchored with stitching, finally, turn our attention to the photo itself.  It.was backed with a Cameo-cut, Basic Black cardstock PieHeart; dressed up with a Hello Fall Cut-Apart tab; and wrapped with a length of ribbon, tied in a bow.
This is where that Tip of the Week, for incorporating, in this case, five 3-7/8" square photos onto a 12" x 12" page, comes into play.  Untie the ribbon and out pops a whole accordion of playful pics, which my journaling alluded to above.  Scrapbook-Crazy has a super Easy Accordion Album Instructions tutorial.  I just modified the size to four 4" x 8" segments and secured the back of the accordion, as well as the ribbon wrap, with 1/4" Wonder Tape.  I also added a little Fray Check to the ends of the ribbon wrap in order to keep it looking pristine for years to come.  So fun!
Further inspiration for this page came from Let's Get Sketchy's 5th Monday Challenge.  Obviously, I was drawn to the fall theme, not to mention the palette itself; but that long table also made me think of weddings and the love of my life.
Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the web!  XOXO
