Pretty Little Studio: Christmas Loading...

Wednesday, December 14, 2016

Welcome back, friends!  It's my turn again on the Pretty Little Studio blog today.  I've worked up a playful, Christmas page, boasting a happy assortment of treasures from our new Holly Jolly Collection, along with a few oldies but goodies, to share.
I started this page by watercoloring and splattering a piece of 12" x 12" watercolor paper in shades of aqua and red.  I also splattered the page with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints, before adding additional texture with modeling paste and a holly stencil.  Once everything was dry, I anchored a number of patterned prints with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitching and topped them with my photo grid, which was matted with white cardstock.  A wide strip of our Peppermint Stripes Clear patterned paper was also the ossed into the mix.  The bottom right corner of that grid was filled in with a cut down to 3" square, woodgrain Shine Journaling Card, which serves as the background for my wreath and gift die cuts, both of which come from the Make a Wish Die Cuts package, as well as that darling, little, Juniper Vintage Die Cut bunny.  Each item was popped up with foam tape, and the latter was further embellished with Glossy Accents and Clear Wink of Stella.
A Twinkle Word Die Cut, popped up with foam tape, and Magical Words Sticker complete the square...
which was grounded with a "magic" Twinkle Word Die Cut, as well as the Cameo-cut, from Real Red cardstock, loading bar.
The loading bar itself coordinates with the "Christmas LOADING..." title, which was Cameo-cut from Basic Black cardstock.
A stamped, in Jet Black ink, "2014" and "Enjoy" round out the top of the design...
and a couple of additional, stamped words take us around the left corner...
to a "deck the halls" Remember Sticker banner.
A Make a Wish Die Cut tag, laced with Baker's Twine, tied in a bow, and a scrumptious mix of Crystal and Seaspray Sequins, not to mention a few hand-cut, from our Big Metallic Silver Star print, stars, complete the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from 123 Challenge Blog's December Challenge.
I'm thrilled to be guest designing with the talented ladies over at Picture This! this month and get to share my take on their Shapes Challenge, with you all, tomorrow.  I hope you'll come back then for a little more scrappy, Christmas inspiration.  Until then, thanks so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful Wednesday!  Hugs!
