Pretty Little Studio: Holiday Baking

Thursday, January 19, 2017

Morning, friends!  I'm super excited to be back up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today with another Christmas-themed page, boasting goodies from all three of our newest Christmas collections.  I just love how well they work together!
I started this page by anchoring strips of some of our gorgeous, Christmas prints, vertically, near center of a piece of 12x12, watercolor paper, with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  I then added a little gesso over the prints, before watercoloring aqua puddles behind where my photos would lie and splattering everything with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  A number of additional, stacked, Christmas prints, as well as a couple of folded, vellum sheets, were then adhered (Some were secured with more stitching.), once again, behind where my photos, which were matted with white cardstock, would lie.  A Merry Tag, laced with Baker's Twine, tied in a bow, was then tucked behind the bottom far left photo.
Moving clockwise, a "COOKIES + MILK" Nice List Cut-Apart was popped up with foam tape.
A Cozy Home 3x4 Pocket Card was then tucked under the right edge of the top photos and used to journal, Baking/decorating Christmas sugar cookies is one of our favorite traditions.  I also journaled a couple of phrases, Delicious & festive, vertically, near the card's top right corner.
Just to the right of the card, I created my "HOLIDAY baking" title with Gold Metallic A to Z Die-Cuts and a "baking" Clear Word.  I cannot tell you how much I'm still in love with those Gold Metallic A to Z Die-Cuts from our Here Comes the Sun Collection!  I just ordered more vowels ;).
Both the title and my journaling were then embellished with a small cluster, which includes a Wish List Flair button, backed with a tangle of gold thread and flanked with a couple of white, cardstock, holly leaf die cuts; a Gold Metallic Label Tag, which I used to house a couple of Nice List Words Stickers; and a Winter Berries Mini Vintage Die Cut.
The darling Christmas Cookies Vintage Die Cut is right where it should be at center stage...
and a Winter Joy Tab, secured with a couple of simple staples, trims the right side of the bottom right photo.  A scattering of stars, collected from our With Glee and Jingle Bell Words Die-Cut packages, not to mention buttons, laced with white thread, and lots of Winter Wonderland Clear Stickers, complete the look.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be blessed!
