The Studio Inspired by a Song Challenge

Sunday, January 29, 2017

Morning, friends!  Before I'm off to teach those fourteen two-year-old boys, in Sunday school, again, I've got my take on a new challenge from The Studio.  This go around, we're challenging you to create a page inspired, in any way whatsoever, by a song of your choosing.  The sky's the limit!  I chose Alison Krauss' Baby Mine and paired it with these darling photos of my littlest just sleeping during his first few months of life, as well as Citrus Twist's gorgeous January "Jameson" Scrapbook Kit.
I started this page by anchoring a number of colorful prints, behind where my photos would lie, with blue-threaded, straight, machine stitches; but before adhering my photos, which were matted with white cardstock, I splattered everything with Pure Black, Titanium White, True Blue, and Ballet Pink acrylic paints.  Once my photos, which were matted with white cardstock, were placed around my journaling, which we'll get back to here in a minute, I tucked a tag, laced with blue twine, tied in a bow, as well as an "over the moon", banner cut-apart in the top right corner...
and embellished them with flower and "THIS LIFE" circle die cuts, popped up with foam tape and backed with a tangle of blue thread.
A butterfly cut-apart, topped with a blue label and an "I bloomin' love you" banner, as well as another floral die cut and a wax envelope, tucked under the journaling panel, fill the bottom right corner...
and a couple of additional flower die cuts, as well as a yellow, Spring 2014 label, laid atop a darling, yellow doily, fill the bottom left.
I used puffy, alphabet stickers, over a "FAVORITES", die-cut ticket, which was stapled in place, to create the "BABY MINE" title.  A little, bird die-cut, popped up with foam tape, tops the title itself...
and brings us full-circle back to my journaling, which reads, Each little smile, giggle, coo, gaze, or twinkle in your eye leaves me weak in the knees; and more than anything, I love to snuggle with you while you we sleep.  "From your head down to your toes, you're not much, goodness knows.  But you're so precious to me, sweet as can be, baby of mine."  (Alison Krauss)  You have every ounce of my heart.  {heart}, Mom.
Die-cut letters, organized vertically, spell out "DREAM".
Just to the left of the lettering, I hung a stamped, in Barely Banana ink, on white cardstock;  hand-cut; and glittered moon from a length of white string, tied in a bow.  A "LOVE  LOVE  LOVE  LOVE" cut-apart, as well as a number of bright yellow, acrylic hearts, scattered throughout, complete the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from The Memory Nest's Make It Monday No. 80.
And, of course, this is where it all began.
You have until Sunday, February 12, 2017, to link up your takes, on this Inspired by a Song Challenge and/or our Mood Board Challenge and/or even our Review of the Year Challenge, in the right-hand column of The Studio blog.  And be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of my talented team was inspired.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful work week, y'all!  Hugs!
