Paper Sweeties March Inspiration Challenge #53

Tuesday, February 28, 2017

Evening, y'all!  I'm super excited to be joining the lovely ladies over at Paper Sweeties, for their monthly inspiration challenge, today.  I took inspiration from the chalkboard, as well as the colors, in the graphic below to make this card for my niece.
I started this card by piecing a trio of prints together onto the white, cardstock, card face.  The bottom corners of the combined prints, as well as the card face were rounded, before everything was anchored with bright-pink-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  The vertical center of the card face was then wrapped with a length of white, seam binding ribbon, tied in a double bow and embellished with a bright pink, gingham, ribbon bow, as well as a pearl, backed with a white, string bow.

I then white-embossed a wide variety of birthday-themed phrases onto a rounded, black cardstock rectangle; smudged it with a hint of White ink to give it more of a chalkboard look; framed it with a gray, woodgrain, patterned print; and popped it up, in the center of the card face, with foam tape.
The cupcake was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a watercolor paper die-cut; watercolored; dressed up with Clear Wink of Stella and a red, gemstone cherry; and popped off the edge of the "chalkboard" with foam tape to complete the look.
Here's your Challenge #53 graphic to get you off and creating in the right direction.
Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the Design Team was inspired, as well as to get all your challenge details.  Thanks for stopping by, and thanks to Debbie and the Paper Sweeties Design Team for having me!  Have a magnificent March, friends!
