Poppystamps: Go for the Gold Challenge

Wednesday, March 1, 2017

Morning, y'all!  While I've been designing for Poppystamps for seven months now, I haven't yet had the opportunity to be a part of their monthly challenge.  Well, today, that's going to change, as I get to join the DT lineup for March's Go for the Gold Challenge.  Here's what I came up with.
I started this card by creating puddles of yellow and gold watercolors on a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of watercolor paper.  I then splattered it with those same yellow and gold shades, as well as Gold Color Shine and Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints, before die-cutting the Honeycomb Curve window and backing it with a sheet of clear acetate.
The bottom right corner was stamped, in Jet Black ink, with an "oh happy day" sentiment from the Grateful Heart stamp set.
I then anchored the prepped piece, with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching, to the Daffodil Delight cardstock card face but not before filling in the space behind it with gold, circle and star sequins; little, silver, star sequins; and ivory sequins.
The shamrock was put together from the results of four of the hearts in our Be Mine Penguins die set and a stem from Birch Press Design's Watercolor Wildflowers die set, all die-cut from green cardstock.  Once it was pieced together, it was backed with a tangle of gold thread; popped up with foam tape; and topped with a gold, cardstock, String Ribbon Bow die cut to complete the look.
Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to get all your challenge details and find out what you're playing for this month.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a lucky March, friends!
