Pretty Little Studio: First Fruits

Wednesday, March 8, 2017

Happy Wednesday, y'all!  I trust you're all having a great week!  I'm up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today, sharing a fall page, boasting lots of goodies from Ashley Horton's Oakley Avenue Collection.
I started this page by sketching an apple in the top left corner and overlapping the left edge of a piece of 12" x 12" watercolor paper.  I then painted it in with watercolors.  The same shade of red used to paint the apple itself also speckled the entire page, along with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints, but not before stamping a few random pinwheels, as well as some fancy script, in Jet Black ink.  A trio of prints were anchored, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitching, behind where my photos, which were matted with white cardstock, would lie.  My "FIRST FRUITS" title was created with Noir ABC Stickers right over the center photo itself, which was also topped with a Rose Bush Tab, labeled with the Aug. 8, 2012, date.
An "XOXO" Hello Fall Cut-Apart was tucked under that same center photo and overlapping the far right one.
The row of photos were then dressed up with a Fall Faves Die Cut, topped with yet another Fall Faves Die Cut, as well as a Monarch Die Cut, all of which were popped up with foam tape.
I then created a vertical string of pinwheels and poppies using a couple of Feelin' Fallish circles, popped up with foam tape; a number of pinwheels, die-cut from our Pumpkin Pie patterned print, in addition to the ones previously stamped; and hand-cut, vellum blooms from our Pretty Poppies Vellum print.  My spots of journaling were then tucked into the mix, along with lots of Fall Faves and Feelin' Fallish hearts, given a bit of shine with Glossy Accents, as well as a couple of Wanderlust Words Stickers.
The first bit of journaling reads, It has always been a dream of mine to own an orchard.  While that may never come to fruition, this one little tree makes me ever so happy...
and the second portion states, We got a total of 15 delicious apples, for our very 1st harvest, this year, after four summers of patiently waiting.
More of the same goodies, described and prepared in the same way as above, along with a Foxy Fall Flair button, backed with a tangle of black thread and a "favorite time of the year" Remember Banner Sticker, trail across the top of the design to complete the look.
Thanks so much for visiting, friends!  Be blessed!
