Monkey Business Birthday

Wednesday, April 26, 2017

Morning, y'all!  Just stopping in, on this rainy Wednesday, to share a card that I made for my nephew's fourth birthday.  I had such fun giving some oldies, but goodies, a little love.
I started his card by piecing a scrap of orange grid, patterned print into the top half of the white, cardstock, card face and a green polka dot remnant into the bottom.  I then stitched around their combined edges with green-threaded, straight, machine stitches; trimmed the space between them with a strip of a green, ruler, patterned paper; and anchored a piece of an orange, polka dot print, near the prepped piece's vertical, left edge, with more green-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  The star was then die-cut from adhesive cork and stapled in the center of the card face.
The sweet, little monkey was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a watercolor paper die cut; watercolored; adhered, in its present position, with foam tape; and embellished with a white gel pen, as well as a little Glossy Accents.  He was dressed up with a glittered party hat, as well as a couple of balloons, which were given a bit of shine with more Glossy Accents.  Both of the accents were stamped, in Jet Black ink, on watercolor paper die cuts; watercolored; and popped up with foam tape, just as the monkey himself.
The "happy birthday" sentiment was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a white, cardstock, banner die cut and tucked under the right edge of the monkey...
and a trio of green buttons, laced with white string, complete the look.
Inspiration for this card came from Reverse Confetti's Sketch for You to Try #47...

Thanks, as always, for stopping by, friends!  Be blessed!  XOXO
