Poppystamps: Flower Power Challenge

Monday, May 1, 2017

Happy May Day, y'all!  Just popping in with our monthly challenge over at Poppystamps.  We're calling this one Flower Power, which inspired me to create this number for my niece's 17th birthday last month.
I started this card by adding puddles of different shades of green watercolor to the 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" watercolor paper, card base.  I then speckled it with those same shades of green, as well as purple, coral, and aqua watercolors.
Once everything was dry, I die-cut the Scribble Flower Circle from Pear Pizazz, Pink Pirouette, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, and Pool Party cardstocks.  The Pear Pizazz circle was adhered directly to the top center of the card face.  The rest of the die-cuts were used to hand-cut flowers, some of which were adhered directly over the original, Pear Pizazz, cardstock, circle duplicates, to make a fuller wreath.  Leaves, die-cut from Pear Pizazz and Garden Green cardstocks, using our Fall Leaf Collage die, help with the fullness as well.  Our Stitched Butterfly Trio was then die-cut from vellum.  The largest two were layered one on top of the other; adhered, just at their centers in order to give their wings lift, on the bottom left edge of the Scribble Flower Circle; and studded with clear gemstones.
A double, white, seam binding ribbon bow, embellished with a length of sheer, coral ribbon, tied in a bow, as well as a lone pearl, dress up with top of the wreath.
The "sending BIRTHDAY WISHES" sentiment was then created from die-cut, using our Happy Birthday Bold die, Calypso Coral letters to spell "BIRTHDAY" and stamped, in Jet Black ink, "sending" and "WISHES" words, which come from our Christmas Greetings stamp set.  The third and final, vellum butterfly, die-cut previously above and studded with a single, clear gemstone, completes the look.
Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to get all your challenge details and find out what you're playing for this month.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a blessed May, friends!
