The Studio Colour Challenge

Sunday, May 21, 2017

Morning, y'all!  Just popping in with a new challenge from The Studio.  I've picked out a gorgeous palette to wet your creative appetites this go around.  I was inspired to use one of the large title pages, from Pinkfresh's new Live More Collection, as the foundation for my take; and while I have to admit that the parameters of the page terrified me at first, I'm SUPER happy with the outcome.  Enjoy!
I started this page by smudging Piglet Mr. Huey's and Leap Frog and Pink Bubblegum Glimmer Mists, above the built-in "LIVE MORE" title, behind where my photo, which was matted with white cardstock, would eventually lie.  I then splattered everything with those same mists, as well as Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  The photo itself was then backed with a trio of prints, helping to pull in those scrumptious colors below, as well as a snippet of cheesecloth for texture.  I also tucked a quartet of pie circle die cuts throughout the page for movement.  The top edge of my photo was then dressed up with a heart tab die cut, and a "YOU MAKE ME happy" puffy sticker adds a kiss of black right where it was needed most.
A couple of tags, one of which boasts the "CURRENTLY LOVING" cousin time phrase and both of which were laced with white string and Baker's Twine, tied in a bow, respectively, were tucked under the left side of the photo.  A couple of floral, puffy stickers, backed with a tangle of gold thread, soften all those straight edges.  Tip: To create dimension with stickers, back them with foam tape; but before peeling off the paper protecting the sticky portion of the tape, dust the back of the sticker with baby powder.  Doing so ensures the tape keeps the sticker raised long after it has been pressed in a book.
The opposite side of the photo was dressed up with a couple of palm die cuts, as well as a gold, foil flamingo and a "CAPTURED" paper clip.
My May 29, 2011 date was handwritten, vertically, along the right side of the "M" in the "LIVE MORE" title; and the center of the "O" was embellished with one of those pie circle die cuts, popped up with foam tape.  In turn, the latter was dressed up with a polka dot, heart, puffy sticker; "can't get enough" die cut; "today" puffy letters; and a "THE LITTLE STUFF" phrase sticker to complete the look.
Here's this month's Colour Challenge to get you off and creating in the right direction.
You have until Sunday, June 4, 2017, to link up your takes, on this Colour Challenge and/or our Recipe Challenge, in the right-hand column of The Studio blog.  Be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how the rest of the team was inspired.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a blessed Sunday, y'all!
