Paper Sweeties January Blast from the Past: Day 3

Monday, January 15, 2018

Hello again, friends!  Just popping back in for the third and final day of Paper Sweeties' January Blast from the Past series.  I've whipped up a winter-themed layout to share today.  So, let's just dive right in.
I started this page by adding aqua and teal, watercolor puddles across the background of a 12" x 12" watercolor paper, base page.  I then splattered it with those same, in addition to bright pink and yellow, watercolors before stamping the snowflakes, from Snow Friends, in Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Island Indigo, and Strawberry Slush inks and splattering everything once again, but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  All of the die-cut snowflakes were Cameo-cut from textured, white cardstock.  The largest ones were anchored with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching as were a couple of the prints, tucked behind the photo with notebook ephemera.  I also layered four Polaroids in amidst the layers before getting down to the nitty-gritty details, beginning with the Paper Sweeties doll.  Madison and her Warm Winter Wishes outfit were stamped, in Jet Black ink, on watercolor paper; watercolored; paper-pieced; detailed with a white, Jelly Roll pen; and surrounded with a die-cut, using the A Friend Is Sweet Cuts, gold frame.  She was also given Christmas Blessings' angel wings, coated in a healthy dose of Dazzling Diamonds.
A couple of tags, laced with white string, tied in a knot and bow respectively, were tucked under the photo's right side and topped with a pink, star, cut-apart frame, stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "Friends are kisses blown to us by Angels" phrase from A Friend Is.
The entire page was grounded with the "sweet MAGIC" title, created from a "sweet" die cut and "MAGIC", foam, glitter Thickers.
A "#bestfriends" tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow, was popped up with foam tape in the bottom left corner of the photo itself, which was matted with white cardstock and popped up with foam tape...
over a fabulous, little, chipboard, glitter Polaroid, surrounded by pom-poms.  The center of the latter gives a landing spot to a string of pom-poms, put together as a cardstock sticker which spans the top right corner of my photo.
A stamped, in Jet Black ink, "A friend is a present you give yourself" phrase, from A Friend Is...
scattering of Sugar Sprinkles sequins; and a little, hand-written journaling complete the look.   My journaling reads, Girl's night out to see Valentine's Day with Tammy.  February 8, 2010.
Further inspiration for this page came from Scrap Our Stash's January Golden Globe Stash Challenge...

and Citrus Twist's January 6th 3-to-Inspire Challenge to (1) include tags, (2) use inks/paint/watercolor, and (3) document a picture of you/selfie.

That does it for this month, folks; but we'll all be back again the same time next month with fabulous, new goodies to share.  Thanks, as always, for all your visits and comments!  Wishing you a wonderful, winter season!  XOXO
