The Studio Recipe Challenge

Sunday, March 11, 2018

Morning, friends!  We've got our first, March challenge up over in The Studio today.  It's a Recipe Challenge to include as many of the ten items, from the list below, as you can on your pages.  I've managed to tie all of them into my design.  Check it out!
I started this page by smudging Patina and Fully Purple Glimmer Mists across the concentric circles, base page.  I then splattered it with those same mists and Pure Black & Titanium White acrylic paints, before placing my photo, which was framed with that sweet, pom-pom-trimmed frame and backed with a snippet of cheesecloth, as well as a paint-chip die cut and couple of prints, anchored with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching, in the vertical center of the design.  It was then topped with both a purple cut-apart label, which I used to record the Springfield Botanical Gardens place where my photo was taken and Oct. 7, 2015, date...
and a playful, bird die cut, popped up with foam tape.
A swan die cut, stapled in place, and "HAPPINESS IS HERE", glitter banner were added to the photo's left...
and topped with a couple of die-cut tickets.  A "BE YOURSELF", phrase die cut, anchored with a single staple, draws the eye around the top left corner...
to the tag, whose image checks both flowers AND ribbon off the list.  It was laced with aqua string, tied in a bow, and topped with a cut-apart, "her heart was a secret garden" wreath.  A trio of ivory buttons, laced with purple thread, add a touch of whimsy; and a "happy little moments", phrase sticker, popped up with foam tape...
leads to the top right, "be happy be bright be you", phrase die cut, which was secured with a couple of additional staples; topped with a heart clip; and backed with a wreath die cut, which happens to overlap...
the floral, "love ya" cut-apart, placed to the the right of my photo in the grid.  The latter was backed with a wax envelope; anchored with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching; and grounded with a "lovely", wood veneer banner, laced with white string.
The "MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT" die cut; "about a girl" cork; and purple, scalloped label, used to journal a favorite scripture, which reads, You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.  Song. 4:7, brings us full circle.  A couple of stamped, in Jet Black ink, phrases and healthy dose of bright pink, enamel dots complete the look.
Further inspiration for this page came from Citrus Twist's March 3rd 3-to-Inspire Challenge to (1) create a grid design, (2) include only one photo, and (3) use patterned paper to anchor the picture.
And here's that recipe list from The Studio...
