Pretty Little Studio: Mom

Monday, May 7, 2018

Morning, y'all, and welcome to the work week!  I trust you all had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was eventful to say the least.  Life has kept me so busy, that I don't think I could catch up on the sleep, that I so desperately need, even if I slept for a week straight.  Going to bed a little early last night was definitely a good start, though, and refreshed me enough to bring you a card, which just so happens to be up on the Pretty Little Studio blog, today.  It was inspired by the new Sweet Life Collection and our upcoming Mother's Day holiday.  Enjoy!
I started this card by adding a puddle of yellow watercolor to a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of watercolor paper.  I then splattered it with yellow, lime green, soft blue, and bright pink watercolors, before stamping it, in Jet Black ink, with the "Mom" sentiment and splattering once again, but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.
Once everything was dry, I anchored three columns of die-cut hearts, from the My Story and Flower Garden packages, in varying sizes, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitching, across the center of the watercolor piece.
For additional texture, I tied one bow, using the same black thread as above, through each stitched column, at varying heights.  I then framed the prepped piece with Rose Red cardstock, as well as black-threaded, straight, machine stitching, and popped it off the surface of the white, cardstock, card face, with foam tape, to complete the look.
Thanks so much for stopping by, friends!  And best wishes, to all you amazing moms out there, for a super special, blessed Mother's Day!  XOXO
