Sketchabilities #151 July Reveal

Saturday, July 14, 2018

Hey, y'all!  Just stopping back in to share my take on a brand new sketch challenge from Sketchabilities.  Enjoy!
I started this page by adding gesso to the peach, stripe, patterned, paper, base page.  Once it was dry, I added puddles of aqua and blue watercolor; speckled it with those same shades of watercolor, as well as peach and yellow watercolors and Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paints; and sprinkled a mix of different, patterned paper, die-cut flowers throughout the design.  That set the stage for my photos, which were matted with white cardstock.  The far, left photo was also partially backed with a piece of blue, diamonds, patterned paper, anchored with white-threaded, straight, machine stitching, as well as a large, aqua, cut-apart label, and topped with a red, die-cut label, which I used to etch a Love you bunch! phrase.
The center photo was backed with a couple of different, patterned prints, both of which were anchored with white-threaded, straight, machine stitching, as well as a snippet of cheesecloth for additional texture.  A file folder tab, etched with the 7.11.14 date, and a manila tag, laced with Baker's Twine, tied in a bow, were tucked under its top edge; and a bird die cut, popped up with foam tape, covers its top, left corner.
The final photo was backed with two different prints yet, both of which were anchored with more white-threaded, straight, machine stitching, and topped with a "Here & Now" arrow, popped up with foam tape.
It's bottom, left corner was anchored with a "Hello", die-cut circle; hand-cut, lemon vine; and "sweet" phrase, all of which were popped up, with foam tape, for more of that scrumptious dimension.  The lemon itself was also dressed up with Dazzling Diamonds for a little shimmer and shine.
The "SERVICE squad" title was created from glitter letters and a foam, phrase sticker...
and strips of white cardstock, used to house my journaling, complete the look.  The journaling reads, Family Palooza @ HCC, stuffing tube socks with supplies, along with priceless, handwritten messages, for our homeless friends in K.C.
And here's your July Sketch #151.  I can't wait to see what you all come up with!
Thanks, as always, for stopping by my neck of the woods!  Now, get out there and make your weekends creative ones.  Hugs!
