Sketchabilities #152 August Reveal

Tuesday, August 14, 2018

Evening, y'all!  Just stopping back in to share my take on a brand new sketch over at Sketchabilities.
I started this page by using an old gift card to swipe white gesso onto the background of my navy, stripe, base page.  Once it was dry, I topped it with a strip of the pink, floral print, taken from the bottom of the base page itself, as well as a pink, heart print, which had its top edge torn for texture; couple of additional prints, both of which were framed with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching; snippet of cheesecloth, for more of that scrumptious texture I love; and my photos, which were matted with white cardstock.  Those same photos were then grounded with a cluster of die cuts, popped up with foam tape.  One of those die cuts serves as my "IF TODAY GOES WELL WE'RE GETTING ICE CREAM" title.  Love it!
The bottom, left corner of my design was stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "It's been a long week." phrase, as well as the "OCT 09 2015" date.
The opposite, top, right corner was dressed up with a "TAKING MY sweet time", phrase die cut, popped up with foam tape.
Another, gorgeous, floral die cut was tucked under its left side and popped up, with more foam tape, over a wax envelope, which was stuffed with a hand-cut, from white cardstock, tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow.
The tag itself houses my journaling, which reads, You started sitting on your potty all by yourself, while we were in Branson on vacation.  You even did a #2 without prompting or encouragement.  We thought you were some kind of genius & hit the potty-training hard just as soon as we got home.  You did learn the skill in record time but still had a few difficult/stubborn days.  Those smoochable cheeks & gorgeous curls make the hard ones so easy to forget.  A scattering of bitty, floral die cuts, a few of which were popped up with foam tape, as well as a handful of gray, puffy dots, complete the look.
Here's your August Sketch #152 to get you off and scrapping in the right direction.
To be considered for the Featured Designer spot, you must add your entry to the linky by September 10, 2018.  Thanks so much for humbling me with a visit, friends!  Be blessed!
