Pretty Little Studio: Grade 5

Saturday, September 22, 2018

Morning, y'all!  I have a page, inspired by Marie-Pierre Capistran's Potpourri Collection, up on the Pretty Little Studio blog this morning; and I simply can't think of a better way to start the weekend than by sharing it here, too.  Enjoy!
I started this page by adding a puddle of blue watercolor to the 12" x 12" watercolor paper, base page.  I then splattered it with that same shade of watercolor before rubbing Pumice Stone Distress Ink through an alphabet stencil and splattering once again, but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White acrylic paints.  A trio of Potpourri prints, including Taking a Walk, Autumn Leaves, and Corn Maze, were then secured, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitching, vertically behind my photos, which were matted with white cardstock and backed with a snippet of cheesecloth for texture.  A couple of Fall Leaves Vellum Die Cuts were tucked behind the bottom left side of my photos and topped with a duo of Wooden Chevron Die Cuts.  A lone mushroom, hand-cut from the Toadstools print; popped up with foam tape; and embellished with a simple, white, string bow, further enhances that bottom left corner.
Moving clockwise, a combined Back to School Die Cut, popped up with foam tape, and School Number Clear Sticker create the simple, "grade 5" title.  A Forest Walk Flair Button and layered, Blowing Bubbles Vellum, die-cut butterfly, studded with clear gemstones, dresses it up beautifully.
Another layered and die-cut butterfly crowns the entire design...
and a third tops a couple more hand-cut, once again from the Toadstools print, mushrooms, popped up with foam tape over a secondary series of Wooden Chevron Die Cuts, dressing up the bottom right side of my photos.  Included in that cluster are also a number of themed Back to School Die Cuts; To the Moon & Back Sticker flower; and hand-written 2013-2014 date.
A couple of die-cut, from white, Lucky Limeade, Barely Banana, and Almost Amethyst cardstocks respectively, flowers branch out from the top of that cluster...
and point the way to the "best teacher" Back to School Die Cut, popped up with foam tape.
"Back to School" and heart School Number Clear Stickers complete the look.
Thanks so much for humbling me with a visit!  Have an amazing weekend, friends!
