Paper Sweeties Winter Inspiration Day 1

Sunday, January 13, 2019

Evening, y'all!  Just popping in to kick-start the week with Paper Sweeties' Winter Inspiration series.  There are no new stamp sets or dies for the month of January, so we're spending what would normally be release week digging into our stashes to create new projects that might give y'all some ideas to use what you already have.  So, let's just get started.  Shall we?
There are a LOT of people in my family, and it seems that I'm ALWAYS running out of birthday cards.  So, I was inspired by our newest, Merry Christmas Y'all stamp set and its coordinating die to create a trio of birthday cards with a similar design.
I started this first card by trimming the left side of a 3-3/4" x 5" gray, star, patterned print with a couple of strips of two different colorful prints, which were equal in height to the original, and framing them all with white cardstock and silver-threaded, straight, machine stitching.  The space between the colorful, patterned, paper strips was then wrapped with a length of white string, tied, in a bow, near the top of the prepped piece; before I adhered such, to the white, cardstock, card face, with foam tape.
The entire card was then overlaid with a snippet of cheesecloth for that scrumptious texture that I love so much.  The "HIP HIP HOORAY wishing you an AMAZING DAY" sentiment, from the Hugs & Kisses stamp set, was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a cut-apart label; framed with white cardstock; tucked under the white, string bow with foam tape; and embellished with a trio of aqua, acrylic stars.
The truck image, from Merry Christmas Y'all, was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a watercolor paper die cut; watercolored; popped off the surface of the card face with foam tape; and given a hint of shine with Glossy Accents.  The truck bed was then filled with the stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a watercolor paper die cut, and watercolored, gift image, from the Snow Time stamp set, to complete the look.
The second card was made in the same way as the previous...
with the exception of two different strips of colorful prints to back the bulk of the card...
and a different color of sentiment label and acrylic stars...
to coordinate with the pink, watercolored truck.
The same can be said for the third card...
with its new, patterned, paper strips...
sentiment label; acrylic stars...
and truck color.
This way of making birthday cards totally needs to become my standard in 2019.  So much so, that I've done it again for Day 2 of Paper Sweeties' Winter Inspiration series; but you'll have to meet me right back here, at the same time and place, tomorrow to see how they turned out.  Thanks so much for your visit today!  Please be sure to visit all my talented teammates, too.  Have a wonderful start to your work weeks!  Hugs!
