Pretty Little Studio: 'Tis the Season Mini Album

Monday, January 21, 2019

Welcome to the work week, y'all!  I'm up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today, sharing a mini album, inspired by our newest collection, Christmas Joy.
For a number of reasons, I rarely do mini albums; but I thought that incorporating some of the precious messages, that my family received over the holidays, into one, might just be the perfect way to treasure them for years to come.  Keep in mind, this little book is not an exhaustive collection; however, it does house all of the photos we were sent this Christmas, as well as some of my favorite cards, which includes all of the beautiful, handmade cards you crafty people sent my way.  So, let's just jump right in.  Shall we?
The front cover of my 6" x 8" album was covered with an 8" x 10" piece of the Merry print.  It was cut two inches larger than the front, cardboard panel itself in order to give myself enough extra to fold onto the inside, which I'll get to in just a moment.  I then dressed it up with a 'Tis the Season Die-Cut wreath, filled in with a "25" from that same die-cut package and dressed up with a length of Baker's Twine, tied in a bow and tucked under a 'Tis the Season Flair Button.
A quartet of die-cuts, from the combined efforts of the 'Tis the Season and Joy Die-Cuts packages and all of which were popped up with foam tape, embellish the space to the bottom right of the wreath.  The marshmallows were dressed up with a little Dazzling Diamonds, and the ornament received a healthy dose of Glossy Accents for shine.
A Joy Die-Cut mitten, popped up with foam tape and dazzled with more glitter, can be found on the opposite side of the wreath.
A couple of Merry & Bright Die-Cut word phrases, as well as a 'Tis the Season Die-Cut ticket, popped up with foam tape...
turns our attention to the inside of the book, where I used a 5-3/4" x 7-3/4" piece of the With Love print to tuck away all the folded, Merry ends.
I then pulled in a Christmas Favs 3x8 Pocket Card to house the "2018" year, which was centered within the printed wreath and made from the Potpourri Collection's School Number Clear Stickers.
The wreath was topped with a quartet of word phrases, one of which was popped up with more foam tape, from both the Merry & Bright and 'Tis the Season Die-Cut packages.
A 'Tis the Season Die-Cut house, popped up with foam tape, and tree rest, over a field of Winter Wonderland Clear Stickers, below the wreath.
I won't share all of the cards that were included in my album, because I'm here to show off all these fabulous, Pretty Little Studio goodies, not my friends and family ;); however, I did snap a quick shot of my beautiful family's Christmas card.  I'm not biased or anything.  Tee hee!
Another Christmas Favs 3x8 Pocket Card...
houses a little journaling, which reads, Our first Christmas in El Paso was filled with family time, good food, new games, & so much fun.  Navidad, the hamster, joined our family; & we all got "just what we wished for", as Kaden would say.  Can't wait for many more!
Yet another Christmas Favs 3x8 Card...
was embellished with three "peace", "joy", and "love" Merry & Bright Die Cuts, popped up with foam tape...
and a fourth...
was dressed up with a couple of Joy Die Cuts, as well as a 'Tis the Season Flair Button...
and a trio of combined Joy and Merry & Bright Die-Cut word phrases finishes it off.
I couldn't resist throwing in a Love Clear Word Art strip simply because it was the perfect size, not to mention that I love playing with clear papers.
All the folded ends of the back panel of the book were covered with a 5-3/4" x 7-3/4" piece of the Forest print.
I did cover the back panel with a different print, from the Christmas Joy Collection, Let It Snow, than the front.  I failed to order enough of any print to cover both the front and back of the book; but I think that them being different just adds a touch more whimsy, which is kind of my style anyhow.  So, I'm going with it.  Obviously, everything was hole-punched in order to tie it all together with metal rings; but the front and back covers' holes were extra reinforced with Jumbo pewter eyelets.
Lots of fabulous ribbons and trims, all of which came straight from my scrap basket, I might add, and one final, "it's beginning to look a lot like christmas" Merry & Bright Die Cut, complete the look.
Before I run, I also wanted to share the darling January Freebie with any $35 or more purchase.
But if $35 is too much for you to swing, especially with tax season quickly approaching, you can still get the January Cut-Apart Freebie with any $1 or more purchase...
and be sure to add some Ain't Life Grand embellishments to your carts.  They're 50% off for the entire month of January.  Woot!
Finally, my Birthday Giveaway ends tomorrow, friends; and I'd love to give one lucky follower a heap of scrumptious goodies just for being such.  So, stop by the link above and tell me whom you most like to celebrate your birthday with and why.  Thanks, as always, for visiting!  Have an amazing week!
