Pretty Little Studio: Happy Place

Sunday, October 13, 2019

Morning, y'all!  Just stopping in to share a fall-inspired page that happens to be up on the Pretty Little Studio blog this am.  I just cannot seem to put the Indian Summer Collection down and thought it would be perfect for this cute pic of my late pup.  She passed away last month.  We had her for 14-1/2 years, and I cannot even begin to express how much I miss her.  I love how scrapbooking can also be healing for a broken heart.
I started this page by adding puddles of teal and orange watercolors to the left side of a 12" x 12" watercolor, paper, base page.  I then splattered it with those same shades of watercolor, as well as pink and light blue watercolors; stamped lots of happy, little leaves, from the Indian Summer clear stamp set, in Pumpkin Pie, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, and Jet Black inks; and splattered everything once again, but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paints.  My photo was cut to fit the square near the top of a Magic Days Journaling Card, which was backed with a quartet of torn prints from the 6x6 Paper Pack, as well as a die-cut, with wheat stems, scrap of Barely Banana cardstock, topped with the Love Clear Word Art, anchored with a couple of simple staples, and sandwiched between a Goodbye Summer Die-Cut tab, etched with the 7.12.15, date...

and the Happy Place Die-Cut title, popped up with foam tape.

A "HOME IS WHERE YOU ARE" Happy Place Die-Cut phrase, popped up with foam tape, crowns my journaling, which reads, You love to be home, playing in the backyard, chasing the squirrels, & basking in the sunshine.  Having you there means home to me, b/c home truly is where you are.

My journaling was grounded with a "loving {YOU}" phrase, which was created with a "loving" Goodbye Summer Die Cut, popped up with foam tape, and Inline Gold Alpha Vellum Stickers to spell the word "{YOU}".

A trail of leaves, created from a combination of Vellum Die Cuts, anchored with messy, white-threaded, straight, machine stitching; Time Together Die Cuts; September 2019 Freebie die-cuts; and die-cut, cardstock maples, in combination with a vintage, orange button, laced with white string; Hello Fox Cut-Apart circle; and Monarch Die Cut...

lead to the Time Together Die-Cut wreath, secured hanging off the right side of the design and filled in with more of those same leaves described above, as well as a Gold Metallic Label, filled in with the "ALL THE FEELS" Goodbye Summer Die Cut and anchored with a Love This Flair Button, not to mention a "choose happiness" Hello White Word Sticker and "my heart is so full right now" A Birdy Told Me Black Word Sticker.

A couple more leaves, from the same die-cut packages already used elsewhere in the design...

as well as one more orange button, laced with white string, complete the look.

Thanks, as always, for visiting!  Give your precious pets extra kisses and cuddles today; and have an amazing week, friends!

I'm so sorry for your loss Jinny, I know how difficult that can be. The page you've created in her memory is just darling. She looks like she's smiling! Sending a big hug your way.
