Pretty Little Studio: Our Festive Tree

Saturday, December 7, 2019

Morning, y'all!  I'm up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today, sharing my first Christmas page of the season, inspired by our newest Glitter & Ice Collection.  Enjoy!
I started this page by covering the center of the Sparkle Lights 12" x 12" base page with gesso.  Once it was dry, I added a large puddle of a hand-mixed, peach/pink watercolor and Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paint splatters.  After framing my photos with three Wonderful Die-Cut Frames and Silver Lining Tags Polaroids, I layered the remainder of the Polaroids, from both of those packages, strategically, throughout the design.  The photograph of my oldest was topped with a "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" Happy Season Die Cut, popped up with foam tape and embellished with a sprig of holly from that same die-cut package, which was enhanced with a little Glossy Accents shine, as well as a Warm Wishes Die-Cut pennant, secured with a simple staple.
A Sparkle & Bright Journaling Pocket Card was adhered to the right of that first photo and used to hand-write a little memory, which reads, You three were so patient with us taking longer than anticipated to manage the light situation this year.  I was so proud of you.  You make Christmas so much more magical.
It was grounded with a whole row of Fir Tree and Happy Season Die-Cut trees, some of which were popped up with foam tape, as well as one lone, Sparkle Silver Lining Die-Cut tree and a Holly Jolly Flair Button.
Twinkle Lights Words Die-Cuts, as well as a Festive Winter Mini ABC Sticker, backed with white cardstock and hand-cut out, create the "OUR festive TREE" title.
In continuing to move clockwise around my design, a simple, "twinkle bright", Happy Season Die-Cut arrow dresses up my second photo.
The third and final photo was backed with a snippet of cheesecloth for texture; Warm Wishes Die-Cut tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow; and Warm Wishes Die-Cut tab, which I used to etch the Dec. 7, 2015, date.
It was then crowned with a Twinkle Lights Word Die-Cut "shine", tucked between a "THE BEST PLACE TO BE", Happy Season Die-Cut banner and an "our gorgeous tree" Oh What Fun Sticker, backed with white cardstock; hand-cut out; and popped up with foam tape, to complete the look.
Thanks so much for humbling me with a visit!  Have a wonderful weekend and an even more spectacular, holiday season, friends!  Mwah!
