Happy Place

Morning, y'all!  I apologize for not stopping in here more often.  I've been thinking of you all so much and hoping that you are well.  We've been busy wrapping up school and kicking off the summer with no place to go.  Fortunately, we got our pool set up, and we have our bikes to roll around the neighborhood.  It's going to be a strange summer.  All that aside, I've got a page, for you all, today.  It was inspired by my April Felicity Jane kit; the April 2020 Sketch Challenge; and one of my favorite places to visit, Mesilla Valley Apple Orchard in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  Check it out!
I started this page by smearing white gesso in the center of the lined, 12x12, base page.  Once it was dry, I added puddles of Oom Pah Pah Pink and Andrea's Azalea Magical Powders and splattered it with those same powders, as well as green and yellow watercolors.  I then stamped the background, in Jet Black ink, with the text from Wplus9 Design's Defining Words stamp set, before splattering it once again, but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paints.  I then used a Jenni Bowlin stencil to create the multi-patterned-paper pie and anchored each piece with black-threaded, straight, machine stitching.  The bottom, right edge of my pie was embellished with hand-cut, from a 3x4 journaling card, flowers; die-cut flowers; a die-cut camera, which had a little Glossy Accents applied to its lens, and branch; length of white string, tied in a bow; and a couple of puffy sticker branches.
The cluster was then topped with a puffy-sticker butterfly...

and grounded with a mini pie, hand-cut from another 3x4 journaling card.
My photos, which were matted with white cardstock, were then tucked under the cluster's combined, right edge.  The top photo was dressed up with a green, polka dot tab, etched with the Sept. 2, 2019, date...
and the bottom photo was embellished with a trio of chipboard phrases.
I adhered a dotted, die-cut strip, to the left of the bottom photo, to anchor my "HAPPY PLACE" title, which was created from soft-green, puffy stickers, as well as my journaling, which reads, This is my favorite time of the year!
A pink, Mesilla Valley Orchard, NM, label...
chipboard, heart circle to which I also applied Glossy Accents; and a couple of puffy-sticker flowers complete the look.
Thanks so much for humbling me with a visit!  Have a wonderful weekend, friends!

Oh how pretty! I love the stitching detail on your pie! You're right, this is going to be an unusual summer. 2020 will be one for the history books for sure.
