Pretty Little Studio: Shine

Friday, August 7, 2020

Morning, y'all!  TGIF!  It's been a busy week in our neck of the woods.  I don't foresee the weekend delivering anything less, but it'll be a different kind of busy and a nice change of routine.  Anyhow, I've had the darling Julia Shiny Buckles Vintage Die Cut sitting, with a stack of pictures (only two made the cut) of Ezekiel and my niece, on my desk for quite some time now.  I'm so excited to have finally got them onto a page for our albums.  The result happens to have been on the Pretty Little Studio blog earlier this week; but without further adieu, I'd love to share it, with you all, here, too.  Check it out!
I started this page by adding puddles of blue and aqua watercolors just left of vertical center.  I then splattered it with those same shades, as well as bright pink watercolor and Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paints.  Once it was dry, I added a Here Comes the Sun: Shine 4x6 Card, which had its top, left corner rounded, to the far left side of the page.
A stack of Savannah Dreams: Laugh All Day and Fun in the Sun: Picnic and Rose Gold Metallic Sand prints, all anchored with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching, were secured near the far right side of the page and topped with a photo, matted with white cardstock, of my oldest, as well as a Here Comes the Sun: Label Medley Die Cut, boasting the July 21, 2008, date and stapled in place.
The center photo of my niece was also matted with white cardstock.  Additionally, it was backed with the Fun in the Sun: Salty But Sweet print, anchored with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching, as well as a snippet of cheesecloth for texture, and wrapped, three times, with a length of white string, tied in a bow.
That same photo was crowned with a collection of Fun in the Sun: Good Vibes Die Cuts, Potpourri: Family Branch Die Cuts, and Sunny Memories: Floral Bits Stickers, some of which were popped up with foam tape, as well as a "less monday more summer" Fun in the Sun: Summertime Flair Button.
A grouping of floral and fruit die cuts, from the same die-cut and sticker packages listed above, surrounds the Julia Shiny Buckles Vintage Die Cut near the bottom of the page.  Within that cluster, I have also included a number of hand-cut, from the Fun in the Sun: Let's Get Lost print, leaves and a Sprinkles 3x4 Bookmark Card butterfly die cut.
A little journaling, which reads, Just a lazy, summer day, playing with Grandma's beads & avoiding the heat, rounds out the base of the page.
One more Sprinkles 3x4 Bookmark Card butterfly die cut tops the page at the point where the torn, Savannah Dreams: Simply Happy 12x12 print meets the torn, Fun in the Sun: Sunny Day 12x12 print and completes the look.
Thanks so much for humbling me with a visit, friends!  Have a wonderful weekend!  XOXO
