Pretty Little Studio: Perfect Weather

Wednesday, September 23, 2020

Hey, y'all!  Just popping in to share a page that kicked off a week of fall-inspired projects over on the Pretty Little Studio blog earlier this week.  It was inspired by our Feels Like Fall and Indian Summer Collections.  I've also managed to incorporate bits and pieces from six additional collections throughout my design.  I know that I've said it before, but I'm going to say it again.  I love the way Pretty Little Studio's collections weld together so effortlessly for endless hours of creative fulfillment.  Check out how they inspired me this go around!

I started this page by adding puddles of bright pink and yellow watercolors to a 11-1/2" square piece of watercolor paper.  I then splattered it with those same shades of watercolor, as well as purple, aqua, and orange watercolors, and Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paints.  I also rubbed a little Spun Sugar Distress Ink, through a lattice stencil and over the watercolor work, behind where my photo would set, before trimming the right and bottom edges of the prepped piece with the Indian Summer: Fall Sunset 12" x 12" print.  The photo itself crowns a stack of prints, including the Indian Summer: Pear Salad and Feels Like Fall: Feeling Lovely and Feeling Refreshed Gold Vellum prints, the first two of which were anchored with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching, as well as a snippet of cheesecloth for added texture.  A couple of Happy Place and Beautiful Colors Die-Cut pumpkins, popped up with foam tape, dress up its bottom, right corner.

Feels Like Fall: Fall Adventures 3x4 Pocket Card, which serves as my title, houses a bit of journaling, and was backed with a Document Life: Jazzy Bookmark Pennant Card, grounds the photo...

while a sweet, Indian Summer: Happy Place Die-Cut fox crowns it.

I then sandwiched that same photo, as well as the smaller one, which was framed with an Indian Summer: Timeless Die Cut and topped with an Indian Summer: Goodbye Summer Die-Cut, "CUTE FAMILY" tab, on a length of Baker's Twine, between a collection of fall-themed ephemera, including a "collect moments" Beautiful Day: Everyday Words Flair Button...

Indian Summer: Vellum Leaves Die Cuts; Beautiful Day: Greenery Die Cuts; Tales & Dreams: Rainbow Vibes Die-Cut "remember"; Potpourri: Fall Leaves Vellum Die Cuts; Indian Summer: Happy Place, "cherish this", phrase die cut, popped up with foam tape...

Let's Go: Feather Die Cuts; Oakley Avenue: Fall Away Arrow; and a "picking a pumpkin" Feels Like Fall: Fall Word Sticker, popped up with foam tape.  I also threw in a couple of Freckled Fawn metal leaves and leaf pin for added texture and interest.  A scattering of Potpourri: Falling Leaves Sequins and stamped, in Jet Black ink, OCT 25 2019, date complete the look.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful Wednesday and an even more terrific fall, friends!  XOXO

Pretty Little Studio: Miss Sadie Rose Trio

Sunday, September 20, 2020

Morning, y'all!   Happy Sunday!  We're off to church this am; but before that, I have a trio of cards, for you all, boasting scrumptious goodies from our newest Miss Sadie Rose Collection.  They happen to have been up on the Pretty Little Studio blog late last week.  Enjoy!

These cards were made in nearly the exact same way with only slight variations; but let's get a little up close and personal, anyhow.  Shall we?

I started this first card by anchoring a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of the Darling Coral print, to the white, cardstock, card face, with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitching.  I then wrapped a length of white string, three times, around the bottom edge of a Patchwork Journaling Card and tied it, in a bow, near the right edge of the card face before backing it with a snippet of cheesecloth for added texture and popping it off the surface of the prepped, card face with foam tape.  It was further embellished with a Such a Lady Die-Cut dress and rose corsage, both of which were popped up with foam tape, as well as an "Enjoy Life" Charming Word Die Cut.

A couple of Sadie's Accessories Stickers were then backed with white cardstock; hand-cut out; and popped up, with foam tape, near the hem of the dress.  A little, Such a Lady Die-Cut bow also dresses up the purse.

I then added a "simply adore it" Out & About White Word Sticker to the center of a hand-cut out Rose Label, which was stapled to the left edge of the journaling card.  A splash of Potpourri: Rose Pink Sequins completes the look.

The background of the second card comes from the So Lovely Mint print.

The Patchwork Journaling Card was prepared in the same way as above but dressed up with a different Such a Lady Die-Cut dress, boasting another rose corsage and topped with a "hello darling" Charming Word Die Cut.

A couple of different Sadie's Accessories Stickers were also prepared in the same way as above.

An "enjoy this day" Out & About White Word Sticker dresses up the center of another Rose Label Cut-Apart, which was stapled to the right edge of the journaling card this time; and another splash of Potpourri: Rose Pink Sequins complete the look.

The stitched background, on the third and final card, comes from the So Lovely Pink print.

The Patchwork Journaling Card was, once again, prepared in the same way as the first with the exception of the white, string bow being tied to the left of it and dressed up with yet another sweet, Such a Lady Die-Cut dress.  I also didn't forget one more Such a Lady Die-Cut, rose corsage or a "smile" Charming Word Die-Cut sentiment.

A couple of Sadie's Accessories Stickers were prepared in the same way as the four above and secured, near the base of the dress, with foam tape.

A "this is the life" Out & About White Word Sticker dressed up the center of another Rose Label Cut-Apart, which was secured, in the same position as the second card above, with a single staple; and that sprinkle of Potpourri: Rose Pink Sequins completes the look.

Thanks ever so much for humbling me with a visit!  Have an amazing weekend, friends!

Pretty Little Studio: God Gave Me You

Sunday, September 6, 2020

Morning, y'all!  Just stopping in with my first, papercraft project of September.  It happens to have been up on the Pretty Little Studio blog late last week and was inspired by the gorgeous, new Miss Sadie Rose Collection.  Check it out!

I started this page by adding white gesso to the background of the 12x12 Darling Green print.  Once it was dry, I added puddles of green and aqua watercolor and splattered everything with those same shades of watercolor, as well as pink and red watercolors and Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paints.  I then tucked a couple of Kelly Lollar Doodle Hearts, Cameo-cut from white cardstock, in behind my photo, which was matted with more white cardstock and backed with bits of the Mint So Lovely and Adore It prints, both of which were anchored with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitching, as well as a torn and folded piece of You're Cute Vellum and snippet of cheesecloth.  A Patchwork Journaling Card, which crowns my photo, had a couple of Sadie Flag Cut-Aparts stapled to its top edge and was used to house a bit of journaling, as well as the date.  A "simply perfect" Charming Words Die Cut...

turns our attention to the bottom of the photo, where we'll find a collection of layered Rose Garden and Roses Are Red Vintage Die Cuts, some of which were popped up with foam tape.

The lovesvg.com, "God gave me you" title was Cameo-cut from Gray Granite and Pink Pirouette cardstocks; adhered just to the left of my photo; and topped with a "pretty little thing" White Out & About Word Sticker.

A Hello Darling Flair Button...

and mix of Charming Word and Roses Are Red Vintage Die-Cut hearts, as well as a few pink, enamel hearts, complete the look.

Thanks ever so much for humbling me with a visit!  Have a wonderful week and a spectacular September, friends!
