Pretty Little Studio: Thanksgiving

Sunday, November 29, 2020

Happy Sunday, y'all!  I trust that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are prepping for a blessed, Christmas season.  Before my family and I get in over our heads in that prep work, I wanted to share a page that I had up on the Pretty Little Studio blog late last week for our week of Thanksgiving Day projects.  Enjoy!

I started this page by adding puddles of yellow and bright pink watercolors to the 12" x 12" watercolor paper, base page.  I then splattered it with those same shades of watercolor, as well as orange, green, and purple watercolors and Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paints.  While everything was drying, I Cameo-cut our Fall Leaves Cut File from textured, white cardstock and backed it with the Indian Summer: Fall Sunset print.  It was then topped with my photo, which was matted with white cardstock and backed with a trio of prints, including Potpourri: Acorn Granola and Pile of Leaves and Fun in the Sun: Coral Sand, as well as a folded piece of the Feels Like Fall: Feeling Warm Gold Metallic Vellum print, Potpourri: I Love Fall Clear paper, and a snippet of cheesecloth for texture.  Before anchoring most of those prints with gold-threaded, straight, machine stitching, I tucked an Ain't Life Grand: Easy Breezy Shipping Tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow, into the right side of those prints and topped it with a Dream Big: Courage Flair Button.

The top, left corner of my photo was topped with two Beautiful Day: Happy Tickets, as well as an itty bitty, Indian Summer: Goodbye Summer Die-Cut heart, all secured in place with a simple staple.

A Woodland: Rose Bush Tab, which was topped with an April 2019 Freebie butterfly and backed with an Indian Summer: Happy Place Die-Cut basket, holds my 2019 date and crowns my design...

while a quartet of phrases, including a Love Clear Word, anchored with a trio of staples; Indian Summer: Inline Alpha Clear Stickers to spell my "THANKSGIVING" title; and a couple of Indian Summer Goodbye Summer Die-Cuts, ground it and complete the look.

Thanks so much for visiting, friends!  Have a wonderful week!  XOXO

Pretty Little Studio: Baby's First Christmas

Wednesday, November 11, 2020

Happy Wednesday, y'all!  I'm so excited to get to share my very first project, which happens to have been up on the Pretty Little Studio blog earlier this week and boasts our newest collection, Christmas Cheer, with you all, today.  This collection is pure perfection and deliciously sweet!  Check out how it has inspired me to scrap a couple pictures of my littlest kiddo's first Christmas.

I started this page by adding green and aqua, watercolor puddles to the 12" x 12" watercolor paper, base page.  I then splattered it with those same shades of watercolor, as well as red and bright pink watercolors.  Once everything was dry, I smudged Spun Sugar Distress Ink through a star stencil and stamped stars, in Lucky Limeade ink, across the background before splattering everything once again, but this time with Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paints.  All of the stamped images you'll see here today came from the Glitter & Ice: Be Merry Clear Stamp Set.  That set the stage for a trail, from the top to the bottom of the page, of Merry & Bright Frame Die Cuts.  The topmost frame was filled in with a bit of the Tree Farm Pink Vellum print.  Moving our way down, the largest, red, striped frame was backed with a "HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE Christmas" Made a List Journal Pocket Card.

A sweet, little stack of Holly Jolly Tag Die-Cut presents...

leads to another Merry & Bright Frame Die Cut, which was backed with another frame, filled in with a bit of Caroling Vellum, as well as a Claus Tag, laced with white string, tied in a bow, and houses one of the photos of my youngest.

It was also embellished with an Animal Christmas Die Cut, popped up with foam tape...

and grounded with a trio of Merry & Bright Frame Die Cuts.  One of those frames was backed with a piece of Star Bright Vellum.  Another was filled in with a "December 25" Made a List Journal Pocket Card and topped with a "ROCKIN' AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE" Merriest Word Sticker.

Another frame, which was filled in with a piece of Minty Stick Candy Vellum and topped with a Holly Jolly Tag Die-Cut label, as well as an "OH WHAT fun" Much Joy Flair Button, crowns it...

and serves as the anchor for my second photo, which (Surprise!) was framed with another Merry & Bright Frame Die Cut, popped up with foam tape...

and sandwiched between a couple Merry & Bright Frame Die-Cut squares...

and a die-cut, "favorite" pennant, from that same frame package, popped up with foam tape and embellished with a stamped, in Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler inks, on white cardstock and hand-cut holly sprig.  The bit of holly was dressed up with Xmas Red Stickles for a little shimmer and shine.

A stamped, in Jet Black ink, "MERRY CHRISTMAS" emblem and scattering of silver, Christmas Cheer Sequin Mix stars complete the look.

Thanks so much for visiting!  Hang in there; and have a wonderful rest of your week, friends!
