Pretty Little Studio: Ruff Christmas

Thursday, February 4, 2021

Morning, y'all!  I was up on the Pretty Little Studio blog earlier this week and wanted to take today to share my latest creation right here in my own neck of the woods, too.  It was inspired by the newest collection, Christmas Cheer.  I told you all that I couldn't put it down ;).

I started this page by covering the Frazer Fir 12" x 12" background page with gesso.  I then added puddles of lime green and aqua watercolors before splattering everything with those same shades of watercolor, as well as bright pink watercolor and Pure Black and Titanium White, acrylic paints.  Once everything was dry, I matted a row of photographs with white cardstock and laid it atop a trio of prints, including a torn piece of Star Bright Vellum, as well as Minty Stick Candy and a lime, script number from the 6" x 6" Christmas Cheer Paper Pack.  The latter two were anchored with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitching.  I then tucked a trio of combined Made a List and Holiday Prompts 3" x 4" Pocket Cards, as well as a Claus Tag, laced with Baker's Twine, tied in a bow, under the top edge of my row of photographs.  The topmost, pocket card was anchored with more silver-threaded, straight, machine stitching and crowned with a couple of red buttons, stitched with white string, as well as a "Christmas CHEER" Holly Jolly Flair Button.

The "Right Now" pocket card was used to begin my journaling, which trails down to an aqua, Warm Wishes label, secured with a simple staple...

and ends with a "CHRISTMAS MORNING" Made a List Pocket Card below my row of photographs.  That same pocket card was anchored with the Animal Christmas Die-Cut, "RUFF CHRISTMAS", title pennant and a "tis the season" Stocking Stuffer Die Cut...

and sandwiched between a darling Animal Christmas Die Cut...

and a "HAVE yourself A MERRY little CHRISTMAS" Holly Jolly Tag Die Cut, both of which were popped up with foam tape.  A bordering, Silent Night Word Die-Cut "faith"...

Kris Kringle Die Cut, dressed up with a fine, white glitter and backed with the Holly Leaves Vintage Die Cut, both of which were popped up with foam tape...

and a Holly Jolly Tag Die-Cut tab, filled in with a "HOLIDAY SNAPSHOTS" The Merriest White Word Sticker, complete the look.

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a blessed rest of your week, friends!
